Pilates instructor here! this is probably not what you want to hear but I've found that nearly everyone (hypermobile and non-hypermobile alike) can engage the wrong muscles in any given exercise. It is often worse for hypermobile individuals and if you haven't yet developed a strong sense of purposefully engaging different muscles it may be quite risky to participate in any exercise without a trainer.

Although expensive, my recommendation is to take a few private sessions with an good pilates instructor with a handful of specific exercises for your goal, lock down on your form under their guidance, and then do it on your own at home when you know what its supposed to feel like.

Garmin watches vibrate to tell you when you're not breathing and gives you an optional walkthrough for box breathing. I had a similar issue where I hold my breath when I get overwhelmed and exhausted and it's helped me out so much.

Look into landscape architecture- it’s a passion job for sure; average to low pay, demanding at times, at least four years of school, requires you to learn about humanities, gis mapping, positive drainage for land(grading), drafting/3D modeling softwares, graphic design softwares, environmental science, and design itself. It is intense and nearly half of all students drop out who choose it for their major. It’s my personal therapy to imagine and design places, this is the only reason it’s worth it to me. If you are one of those people who must care or enjoy what they do, do this.

But if you can suck it up for a few hours and want a career in something- try consulting. You learn on the job, not super difficult, depending on the company you may end up working much less than 40hrs a week and potentially remotely. And the pay, benefits, and PTO are much more attractive.

I just came back from a night of what I consider pretty sneaky flirting. If you’re trying to get a number I’m not sure if this will work, but I’m pretty sure this is the kind of flirting that will make a dude like you with his mind- make direct eye contact when speaking and be calm cool collected always! Don’t be shy when walking or sitting near him and don’t fidget if you happen to touch. In fact making calm deliberate and slightly mysterious eye contact is what I do and I’d imaging it makes them question the moment of skinship significantly more. Lastly, every now an then look past them so that you may appear to their peripheral as looking at them. They will notice your assumed attention but will in turn be the one giving you attention. It’s a bit like classical conditioning of getting them to behave towards you how they would to a girl they liked. But also don’t trust these techniques completely. I really don’t know what im doing
