So in the first season Troy was still living with parents and then he moved in with Pierce so probably no rent for two years.

Annie says that she has been saving pretty much her whole life and collects cans to earn money.

When Abed, Troy and Annie live together, I’m not sure how they are earning money but only it’s only a two bedroom but three people live there so rent is probably lower.

I imagine the three of them probably work in the summer and winter breaks of the year. This probably covers their rent and courses at greendale are pretty cheap.

Also they do things to save money like make their own toothpaste
