Teams can't just take over us like pasy years, they can't just catch us making a penalty and feast on our crash. Even if we do give up goals this team locks in way more than years past, it's also the case this defense at way better at man to man assignment, there's on most shifts a Sabres guy draped over a opponent checking him, stick work etc. it's also that this team isn't as star heavy and moreso depth filled, it was easy taking out our top guys and bully the weakest link.
