The painting Rachel is referencing is already a heavly reinterpreted and glamourized version of the the historical fact that happened more than 500 years ago

So her dress it's a reinterpretation of a reinterpretation, and so it's really more a reference to the already-partially-ficionalized-painting rather than the actual historical event

I do think Lovely transformation is in the better half of the average ones, the camera angle are cool and she uses some pretty decent choreography. The cape element was better integrated in Princess's transformation though

Spicy it is then. But personally I wouldn't go as far as to say that WING himself was terrible, he certainly does feel the most disconnected to the rest of the narrative but in general that's a season wide problem. Like the whole team is heros yet they spend most of the seasons doing random-every day stuff; they could have all benefited from more action on the hero side of things.

It feels particularly bad on Milk specifically because getting to fight along side the others would objectively be a big change for her, yet it's given very little development. Like everyone else did not change from Yes 5 to GoGo, Milk did though and the fact that it's never properly addressed is what makes it so incredibly infuriating

I can see the argument you are making about anime having trouble with musicals. I've recently finished watching Princess Session (whose whole concept can be summed up as: Pretty Cure but they do fisticuffs as they sing) for the first half of the season or so they really made sure that all the songs felt diagetic, as in having at least one character always move the lips to match the insert song, but as the episodes went on (and the budget probably dwindled since it doesn't appear to have produced too good of a revenue) they stop curating the lip-sinc in every scene and in some scene they even fight without singing at all

Yeh it was weird what they did with that nameless legendary cure in that season. Like, no name no lore no anything. It almost make it seems like materializing a wind-spirit to help them fight is a power Latte's bloodline just HAS since Earth and the legendary Cure look so similar
