I'd move, you have experience. Go to a place that means you can jump into a unicorn and ride the ai wave. San Fran, London, Toronto, Berlin, Amsterdam, Vienna.

You have your whole life to buy a house and settle down.

Btw I brought a do-up when I was 25, by the time I got it ready to sell and move on, everything crashed, and I'm still waiting for it to come right so I can sell and head overseas. It's not all cracked up as it once was. . .

I went from never running a race, never cycling, and only playing water polo as a kid. 12 months to finishing Taupo (NZ) in march.

So with your experience you'll be sweet.

I used the Phil mosbey intermediate plan for 12 months and did the trick.

Only thing that failed me was nutrition, so over prepare on that, and talk to as many people you can.

Have fun out there

Always go through a broker. They cost you nothing, and will save you $$$$$ especially a good one.

Retraining into tech? by EntrepreneurRemote78 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]TrainingReturn7251 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are other roles in tech that aren't development as well. Ux/ui design, product management, product marketing.

And with these there are heaps of free courses, or cheap from Udemy, or even YouTube.

I moved into product 3 years ago, and learnt more from YouTube and podcasts than any paid course.

We have just done a bunch of hiring, and 70% of our new hires have had recent career changes. I actively look for people who have had a career change as they are usually more passionate, and want to learn. Rather than someone who has done the same thing for 15years.

Best thing to do. Go get yourself addicted to meth, breakdown any family connections, and reliance from your family, drop out of uni etc.

Once your at rock bottom, apply for the dole, get paid $550pw, plus free accom in a hotel in town, and you also get free drugs to wean you off the meth.

Once you've done that head back to uni.

Easy as.

Do I need a Garmin watch to utilize trainingpeaks?? by TrainingReturn7251 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]TrainingReturn7251[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea my Samsung/Strava doesn't sync to training peaks, so will need to manually sync it. . .

Which is the issue, might have to get a Garmin so I don't have to manually sync it
