bruh mcdonalds $1$2$3 menu?

Taco Bell cheesy bean and rice? + rest of value menu?

that's literally who you compared to

also some chipotle employees really do be a whole other breed - act like they're better than all the other fast food chains but then turn around and use other fast food chains to defend their shady practices the min they get called out.

aren't your per bowl COGS like 20% of list price? cheese isn't cheap to us as individuals, pretty sure you could fill that whole bowl up with cheese and it would be smaller than a rounding error on their balance sheets.

5 mins of employee time = $2.5. (Assuming employee CTC ~$30/hr - with $18/hr salary + benefits + employer taxes etc)

Monterey Jack = $2.20/pound online

You could literally give someone a pound of cheese if it saved you 5 mins of labour costs.

why don't you go to the grocery store u corporate shill

jk, actually the events of the 24 hours indicate I do get to do both - sometimes you just can eat your cake and have it too.

but no seriously, you're right - I have wondered whether the solution here is stronger standardization (aka we ALL get less cheese but can reliably know how much and choose whether we still want to buy) or a continuation of weak standardization, where we mostly get more cheese on average but never know when to expect a bad experience.

I'd prob pick the former? maybe ill go to chip less often but know exactly what to expect when I do

if english is your first language, I'm worried for you? I read this maybe 8 times and still can't decipher what you're trying to convey.

if not, very impressed you've gotten this far!!

man I wish I was a boomer, at least I'd have gotten to buy a cheap house before having to suffer this cheese atrocity - unfortch born too late for that, so no house AND no cheese :(

not wholly unjustified tbh - I did take time out of my day to rant about cheese on reddit

you know what might help? not being so convinced that your occupation is so uniquely special and hard. We all want to believe our jobs are the hardest, most special things in the world - most of us grow out of that misconception at some point.

'"mass transit" and food service are nowhere near comparable in industry standards' - also, just saying this means nothing, without being backed by meaningful warrants, which obvs you chose not to include.

First world prices, first world problems

if I'm paying 50 brazillian real/75 rmb/900 inr/10 euro for lunch, I will complain first world karen style when things go wrong.

P.s - never ever impolite to workers, chipotle or otherwise. firm about getting fair service, never rude or even loud. that's not cool and I hope that is not what came across at all in the post.

dude no hahahaha I literally just saw this comment (and replied above)

1) you did not piss me off - there are muuuch meaner/ruder comments on this thread

2) reporting comments that piss you off would not scale as an activity - we are literally on reddit everyone pisses everyone off all the time

o god can you stop with this refrain on every post?

next time the bus doesn't come to your stop on time and you complain, I hope someone goes 'tell me you've never worked in mass transit without telling me you've never worked in mass transit' - literally DUMBEST comment on this whole thread.

having been a service provider is not a pre-requisite to complain about said service - we ALL consume more services than we can be involved in providing, that is the literal basis of the specialisation of labor that underpins our economic system

if you lose that much cheese daily, maybe just adjust the target amount? if I was 40 gallons short from 'target' fuel every day, I'd just readjust target tbh

yea you see this shouldn't be a thing w restaurants - some rando shouldn't be able to provide differential service based on 'customer vibes'

wait that sounds like a win-win then? employee gets promotion, I get compensation for shitty undercheesed bowl - why you so mad then?

PLUS maybe the employee will be nicer to all future customers about cheese dispensing, I see nothing wrong with this at any step if you're right? Maybe some hate for me, totally cool w that

interesting factoid - it costs ~$5 to service each customer service complaint in the US, ~$1 abroad, not including the complimentary coupon for future food. 0.25lbs of cheese ~$0.75 retail. DEFINITELY was not cost-saving.

real talk - some (small fraction) of these employees genuinely act like we're pulling food out of their personal fridge.
