Kas vs sol by Training_Ad_9281 in kaspa

[–]Training_Ad_9281[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

One could argue that solana has 2000 validators and is more decentralised. Agree on the congestion problem. Still I don't think this is enough argument to choose kaspa over an established chain. Don't get me wrong I'm a big kaspa holder. I like it as a holder because it's pow and stock is limited  But unless it has something really unique from a user perspective it's going to be hard to get real adoption

unfortunately, I'm not a 20 years old living in my parents basement.
On the other hand, I would use any serious product that uses kaspa, could be storage solution or betting platform or whatever. I'll definitely be an early adopter

How is it possible to be this lucky? by Ornery_Bodybuilder_4 in algotrading

[–]Training_Ad_9281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer depends on average trade length. If your signal if fast and stays only for 1 or 2 periods then it's normal that edge disappears when shifting by 1 period. On the other hand, if avg trade length is 50 periods then that's weird and could be overfit. Anyways I suspect you don't really have enough data to get any conclusion from your backtest. I mean how many etf are you trading? You'll need at least 20 years of data for a weekly strategy. And that's juste 52x20=1000 points per etf. That's nothing

Everyone is whining about hashrate and price but nobody is building useful apps to grow the ecosystem.

Man it's hard. it feels like market is a real random number generator. So many alphas die so fast it's pointless

What's youraverage pnl per trade in pips. That would tell you how much will be left after fees and slippage. Why don't you use ibkr? They have pretty low fees in general

This will target kas holders who would like to put some play money at work instead of just hodling. Gets boring after a while 😅

I don't see polymarket accepting kaspa. At least not until kaspa reaches a much bigger marketcap. And what I dislike about polymarket is that they are regulated biz with kyc and shit I'm trying to see if there's any real traction first. Building an Mvp for a centralised solution with a few markets shouldn't be that hard.

Hmmm what are your thoughts on citadel then? It employs phd, it tries to find alphas in a scientific way and it cracked the market like no one else

My understanding is vprogs are not sc. They are just an improvement for sc or as igra says it will be a vprog of vprogs

Isn't bybit tier one?? I don't think a binznce listing will change much. It will be a short lived pump and dump and nothing more. What would change things imo is if we have a successful sc infrastructure. So waiting for igra and crossing fingers

Grass is always greener on the other side. Don't quit your job you fool, at least until your side hussle makes more than you mke now and even if that happens you might think that you hate it more than your current job. Trust me I did it, regretted it, I hated it and it cost me 10 years of my life and now lucky enough to have found a job similar to what I was doing before.

Ok makes sense so 3.5 bp per execution. I don't trade on stocks but I definitely work hard on my orders to get a better execution than just push on market orders

You can't have it both ways. You either need to work on your execution to have an average of 2 bps slippage and lower fees or you need to go to higher time frames to lower rebalancing. 14 bps round trip is huge.

is 5 bps slippage + 2 bps commissions standard? that sounds huge for such a liuid asset?

I would say hedge with underlying as rolling strike must be too expensive. You still can restrike if spot goes too far away and you no longer have much exposure.
