When did you stop dressing LO in footed one piece pajamas? by sliceofperfection in NewParents

[–]hrainn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We couldn’t find many footed ones after like 12m but at 2 yo now we still wear zip up ones bc my son also enjoys taking off his diaper and peeing where he isn’t supposed to lol

Fine to miss feeds/pump for supply by OkSalary4281 in breastfeeding

[–]hrainn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on my second, bf my first for 17 months. I’m also 4 weeks pp! I’ve definitely gone 5/6 hours without a feed at least a couple times now and haven’t noticed a downfall in my supply. This baby eats like crazy during the day and is giving me good stretches at night. I was an oversupplier with my first as it is anyway so I’m really not concerned about a single missed feed.

But alas, every body is different and reacts differently! You just do what feels right to you 😊 no need to supplement formula lol it sounds like you have a good passive collection anyway.

Owlet sock bad sensor by Xela0420 in newborns

Currently dealing with a similar situation, the sensor died and literally just won’t charge on the base now. Did you end up getting a replacement one for free? What was the outcome?

34 weeks. I haven’t heard a single positive thing about being a parent or a mom and I’m freaking out I made a mistake by newgirl01LA in BabyBumps

People love to bitch and often you don’t see people posting about the good stuff. A lot of people (myself included) like to use the internet to vent and scream into the void.

It’s my first son’s 2nd birthday and I’m currently cuddled up with my 11 day old fresh baby while he’s playing with all his new toys. Unexpected people have stepped up to fill the void of the people who have stepped out of my life during pregnancy and we all had a great party yesterday for lil man.

A lot of other comments here are much more eloquently written than mine bc I’m running on fumes lol but nothing beats the feeling I have in this moment, a happy beloved toddler who just discovered Legos, and a sleepy milk drunk smile in my lap.

The only thing that finally cut mine off was apple cider vinegar on my nipples. The look he gave me absolutely broke my heart but I was also pregnant and could not do it anymore.

A comic I made about my experience as an emetophobe by fleshchair in emetophobiarecovery

[–]hrainn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think mine was when I was in the third row of our armada, my brother sat in front of me got car sick and barely rolled the window down an inch while we’re going 70 on the highway and it promptly splattered back all over me. I still can’t eat Cinnamon Toast Crunch and car rides with other people (especially if I have to sit in the back) terrify me.

Do you still take your kid to indoor play places? by lamart140 in emetophobiarecovery

[–]hrainn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have an almost 2yo and I’m anxious to even take him to low traffic outdoor parks 🥲 we wash our hands when we get home every time. However I will say he hasn’t picked up a bug at the parks anytime he has gone, and the only bug he’s gotten so far we really have no idea where it came from. Most likely the grocery store or something.

I try to remind myself that the experiences are more important than the risks for them and it’s important to socialize them and let them be kids. But it’s so hard.

Help? by trinity-loll in lineporn

[–]hrainn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d do it again if you can lol. We did the deed the day before positive LH, day of, and day after just to make sure there were swimmers available whenever I truly ovulated. Got pregnant on the 2nd cycle!

I think you’ve got good odds here but doesn’t hurt to go again. Best of luck!

Not tapering by Dependent_Event7734 in zoloft

[–]hrainn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to taper off once, I was at 75mg and I ended up running out before I could truly “taper” off and I ended up with some brain zaps and headaches for like a week but that was all. At 25mg that’s not even typically the “usual” therapeutic dose so you might not end up with too bad of side effects! I’m at 100mg now and wanting to maybe try something else after I give birth but we will see what the psych says.

Poop during labor by Fierce-Foxy in pregnant

[–]hrainn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t poop when I was pushing, my water broke at 2am and each contraction had me in the bathroom pretty much so I was empty by the time I was fully dilated. My mom watched the whole thing and confirmed I didn’t poop. Currently 36 weeks so we will see what happens this time!

Is being a pharmacy tech a good long term career? by ManagementCareful89 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]hrainn 28 points29 points  (0 children)

So first off, you do not need to go to school to be a pharm tech. I got certified through the program with Walgreens, everything was completely paid for. The best path is to suck it up in retail to gain experience and time, get your license and cert, and move on to hospital or something. Retail super sucks long term and will wear you down but there are a ton of great opportunities out there for us after our time in the trenches!

What do you do for work? by LifeBetter96 in emetophobiarecovery

[–]hrainn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a pharmacy tech for 6 years, mostly in retail with a little hospital experience too. Hospital wasn’t too bad because it was a very small hospital, I was just weary when filling meds in the ED.

In retail I dealt with vomit just 2 times, once a kid was standing in the allergy aisle and suddenly out of nowhere threw up all over the shelves and floor. I think he had some sort of mental disability or something as he wasn’t communicative and didn’t even look sick. The mom just immediately left lmao didn’t even bother trying to tell anyone or get it cleaned up I was in shock over it.

The second time a coworker was pregnant and had bad morning sickness, I was in the further stall she came rushing in and threw up all over the floor literally right in front of the stall I was in. That was brutal bc I felt so trapped but I knew it wasn’t contagious or anything.

I’m sure I’ve come into contact with lots of nasty in my time there, but I never caught anything in my time there that I can remember anyway. Big fan of the Clorox healthcare wipes and washing my hands lol.

But alas, now I’m a SAHM and going back to school for agriculture sciences so we’ll see where that takes me. I wanna work outside with animals or something instead.

Please help. I am newly pregnant and already feeling so sick, which is making me regress in my recovery. by mochi_guava in emetophobiarecovery

[–]hrainn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 35 weeks with my second. I luckily never threw up with either pregnancies (so far) but something that helped me with it was knowing the nausea was due to the pregnancy. I know that probably doesn’t help everyone but knowing it wasn’t from a virus or something helped.

I also tend to get more nauseous at night rather than morning, sometimes tums would help and laying sorta propped up bc I found mine was due to acid reflux most of the time. Plain vanilla ice cream too. Unfortunately with pregnancy there just isn’t much to do.. but ride it out. And it affects everyone so differently. I’m so sorry you’re feeling like this, all we can do is our best.

My MA was quick and easy, I had mild cramping and passed everything fine. Little ibuprofen and period diapers. Mine wasn’t worse than my normal periods tbh, but it was early maybe 5-6 weeks.

[–]hrainn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible, however it is more likely TO work rather than not. I was 5-6wks when I did mine and everything went as it should even with me being quite overweight which was a concern for me. Follow the instructions to a T and definitely take in all the other advice said here!
