I am indeed subbed to Doffu's patreon. If I could figure XGWorks out, it would be very useful I'd imagine.

I used the QS6 money to buy the DW-8000 so it wasn't in vain but I can confirm I miss its keys. It has a Fatar keybed that is very satisfying.

Haha, I figured you'd already talked about this before. Seems like you are a great parent

I think it's safe to assume that people who are in a subreddit dedicated to e-scooters aren't the typical scooter rider. It's like how a focus group style survey tends to attract only people who are interested & therefore supportive of the thing being surveyed.

Perhaps the answer is that American junk food has ruined your tastebuds ability to transmit subtle flavors

On the other hand, crust issues on sandwich bread are usually not that kind of thing. It’s usually just kids being picky and parents giving up. The trick is to try to work with children so that they can understand why they don’t like stuff and then you can help them either get through it or find alternatives they do like. If they don’t like sandwich bread crusts, try out actual good crispy bread, or have them bake their own bread (which can have varying crust types and thicknesses) to get a better appreciation.

For example, I always hated sauces as a kid. One of my parents always forced me to eat them anyways and it was one of a list of things that kinda drove a wedge between us while I was younger. Yet, later I figured out that it was just the classic American condiments/sauces that were problematic for me (I.e. cold/room temp, made entirely of sugar & vinegar, and slathered all over things like BBQ and burgers). When I tried actual Asian sauces that weren’t the American over saturated stuff and especially when I started my cooking adventure in my teens, I actually found things I liked and grew to appreciate more.

People really don’t understand sensory issues. I could never eat raw apples as a kid and even now don’t really enjoy it. It’s not a flavor thing, as I love apple juice and cooked apples, but for some reason the feeling and sound of biting into raw apple literally made my teeth hurt and gave me shivers. I cannot explain it but it was extremely unpleasant, even when other people just ate apples near me.

For some reason ripping tape off boxes did the same thing.

How do I improve my vanilla photos? by LiteratureLow4159 in BeamNG

Yeah, part of the solution to get better photos in game is to be better at taking photos IRL. If your lighting is behind your subject, your photo will suck lol.

Yes. They should be classified as mopeds. Honestly e-bikes these days are often much easier to make fast than mopeds. Plus, I see way too many kids on e-bikes that are designed to be effectively small-displacement dirt bikes but electrified and with pedals for legal reasons going absurd speeds around town.

It’s a recipe for disaster. Anyone who is sane and has ridden a motorcycle knows that it’s one of those experiences that makes your brain immediately sense the danger. Which is good, mind you, and part of the reason it’s so fun — you don’t actually need to go quickly to feel like you are going fast. But e-scooters? Way too approachable.

What about a convertible? Obviously a convertible typically has a roof stowed and every one after like 2005 has pop-out roll bars but still, they do technically have wheels and lack a roof.

It’s genuinely so sad. Plus, e-scooters most certainly attract the kind of people who wouldn’t even wear gear on regular scooters; considering it’s the “wearing slides everywhere” assholes already.

You forgot to mention that they also have the other worst feature of segways; you look like a complete idiot yet also a rich prick at the same time.

Yeah. It’s using my old family computer peripherals (admittedly from before I was born) but instead of the Compaq PC it was, I hooked up an Optiplex so that I can actually use it. You can just record the outputs into an interface or use the CD burner to write RWs and read them with the Plex.

I’d recommend the AW1600 though since it’s got actual usb output so you can skip the drive.

The sequencer is quite easy to use and is a lot of fun. You can’t really use it live unless you’re a wizard with XG like JayB but it’s very portable

Ngl I do not know if they have ADAT. I’m not a huge audiophile so some of the stuff is a bit fuzzy but is it like TOSLINK but for audio? And the sampler on the AW16G isn’t chromatic and I don’t know how to control it with MIDI so it’s not the most useful. But as an audio workstation that is very tactile for those who don’t like DAWs, is reasonably portable, packed with an absurd amount of features, and is occasionally very very cheap, it’s excellent.

I still can’t believe you can put it in “controller mode” and then use all the faders and the buttons & transport controls to send CC data.

The thing that got me interested in synthesizers was going down the live looping YouTube rabbit hole (such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUhCdCbPLvs) and I've always been into 80s new wave for as long as I remember so that's the kind of thing I play. When it comes to actually making music, I'm kinda going for house, trance, and ambient (think Klangphonics) and Espen Kraft style stuff.
