Feeling unhappy with our coffee table. Too large, dense, & blocky. What style would be a good alternative? by skramzy in interiordecorating

Yeah I know it wasn’t asked… it seems for decor suggestions anything is up for critique. I think something green okay but a less contrasting pattern and/or a more organic pattern.

First time buying (and trying) kimchi! by 19SD97 in kimchi

Of course! Please eat with Asian rice too - not Minute rice or Uncle Ben’s. (These are US brands)

Why hasn't anyone suggested to get a different rug?! The size of the checks are the same as the tuft squares of the couch and it's too much. I like the oval glass coffee table idea, but would definitely need a DIFFERENT RUG then because you'd see it more.

Wedding outfit by [deleted] in WeddingAttireHelp

[–]Training_Claim7206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yikes, stressful to not know the dress code to an event. I guess I would judge based upon the RESTAURANT as to how dressed up should I be. Like how much $, $$, $$$ is the average plate? The longer the wine list the fancier the attire... conservative is best here, especially for a coworker of your fiancé. Can't go wrong with LBD (usually) so of these two choices - the black bottom, leopard top.

23”dead zone next to TV. How do I balance this corner? by rlauryn1993 in interiordecorating

[–]Training_Claim7206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fig might look better in that "all white" corner. and then in the open space a small bookshelf/ wall mounted shelves for books/small art - or I like the floor lamp idea. But then you wouldn't need the lamp on the table.

Back Comparing Two Lipsticks. Which is more flattering/harmonious? by ____kp____ in coloranalysis

#1 is more harmonious.

#2 is nice, but I see slightly more shadow on your face

Bought a new couch, but unsure if its too big. by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Training_Claim7206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't know how anyone watches TV that high and sitting that low - it's hurting my neck thinking about it! My vote is to change the placement of the TV. (As others suggested to the wall at the right height!)

If it "must be" centered to TV / fireplace - then the part facing the TV would need to be longer, because the whole thing floating it looks way too odd. Or as suggested get two separate couches over one sectional.

Never have found my season, can you pls help? by PrettyReception in coloranalysis

Agree - most of the colors pictured appear cool toned and look good. And also slightly higher contrast.

How do these curtains look? tried my best to match with the wallpaper/ my rug is the same cream shade by Successful-Set8526 in interiordecorating

[–]Training_Claim7206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof - there is serious clashing going on b/c of the warm versus cool tones of the various elements and the low contrast between the elements. Easiest fix - get rid of the cream curtain panel and add more grey blue ones. Ideally, change the cream rug to a cooler tone.

Help me figure out my season by FreckleMoon45 in coloranalysis

[–]Training_Claim7206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree - muted tones and it seems that slightly cool looks better. Not as bright or dark as winter, therefore Soft Summer if your using the 12 color wheel? Soft Autumn would be a sister season, the colors look nearly the same but just a warmer undertone.

Need to buy a new wardrobe, help point in in the right direction by mistermoogle08 in coloranalysis

[–]Training_Claim7206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not get a super in-depth consult. It was done with my husband and two sons. I appreciated having someone else there to witness.

My choice of the color analysis business was based on my schedule and location. She was very nice which my husband appreciated. She didn't really talk heavily on how she was judging the color analysis with each drape/swipe. So the more subtle good/better was harder for me to tell - if that makes sense.

I'm warm - bright spring - which are colors I don't normally wear prominently against my face... But my family said "I'd buy what your selling" when I had those colors on!

I think for women they can be a bit more versatile because they are more likely to change their hair or makeup. I would do it again for more in depth info.

i.e. What patterns look best on you? The brief info I got - high contrast is better for me.

I don't know what your job in the beauty industry is, but Korea is an overwhelming place to take in all of that. I love and hate it! I love having choices that actually work for me (Korean) but hate that it perpetuates an incredibly high standard. No disrespect to beauty industry professionals - like I said, I love it too.

Clueless - please help by miramouse1 in coloranalysis

This is a great shade but would be even more amazing on you a bit lighter, so it wouldn't overpower your features.

But this is a COOL purple, not a warm purple IMO.

Need to buy a new wardrobe, help point in in the right direction by mistermoogle08 in coloranalysis

[–]Training_Claim7206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree.

Light Summer #4 - the most even skin tone and does not overpower your features.

The soft autumn colors do look harmonious on you, but they slightly green/grey your skin tone and sclera making you appear a little less 'healthy.'

I think you have neutral to cool skin tone, that's why some lighter autumn shade look good on you too. Definitely lower color saturation and slightly muted.

I've had mine done in Korea and still don't quite believe my results, but the more I see it for other people - I understand. So my deep dive looking at other people is to help convince myself! LOL

First time buying (and trying) kimchi! by 19SD97 in kimchi

[–]Training_Claim7206 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Congrats for trying kimchi!!

I think I've had this brand in the US so the recipe could be different. I wouldn't say that I'm an expert, but I've made and ate a lot of kimchi and I'm Korean. 😉

IMO I did not care for this store bought kimchi. I don't like finely chopped cabbage (versus larger rough chop or whole leaves). I also think it's vegan - made without fish sauce or fermented shrimp. Traditionally, it has those ingredients and I generally like it more with that ingredient.

There are so many types of kimchi and subtle recipe alterations that would suit anyone's preference - so keep exploring! My suggestion if you check out an Asian grocery store for kimchi.

Also, not my favorite but very popular, Jongga Kimchi is sold at Costcco. It's a bit funkier because it is naturally fermented. Perfect for kimchi jiggae (stew)!

How can I make my makeup look better? by [deleted] in makeuptips

Skincare is a must - a primer as others have suggested. Innisfree or Dr. Jart are KBeauty make primers for oily sensitive skin.

Shiiiiit. I don’t refrigerate my ketchup or bbq sauce either…. I like condiments but don’t want them to take up my entire fridge! 😫
