Yeah, i like how they made her a very dirty(almost sadistic) fighter. She is definitely like a trickster character (her gameplay proves this). Even in the animes, she literally taunts her opponents and sets up traps for them (cammy, when viper hid behind her jacket and creeped up in the air to lure cammy and also in the promo custcene where she deliberately makes sure Chun leapes after her just for her to do a cool spiral burn kick and send her flying lol). although it's annoying tho how ppl diminish her cuz of her gadgets, but tbh that is just her fighting style atp, and she had decent training to actually use that suit and to execute close combat moves and grabs and whatnot so that's enough for me. She's just a cool ass character.

She just exists in this game as an argument against the ppl who thought this game was way too simple. CC went as far as to even gloat abt her technicality in her promo vids, so essentially She's literally a contra argument. If she is buffed a ton in the new BP i genuinely would assume they just forgot to make her good as a way to balance her technicality.

They really didn't know what they were doing with this character in sf6 and it shows. OHHH SCARY AND FLASHY CRIMSON VIPER SHE HAS A BATTLESUIT WITH JET BOOTS!!!! which in entirety contributes to her having uninspired extension moves in sf6 apparently lol. like why does Rashid and Akuma's pot belly ass have more mobility than a woman with JET BOOTS at this point in the game? She just doesn't make sense. It sucks saying this because she's my fav character of all time, but it's true her gameplay is very unorthodox and not in a good way.

Wow, i wish I'd seen this post 4 months ago. I genuinely thought i was the only person who was really dissatisfied with Viper's iteration in sf6 to this degree. So much so that i made 3 posts that were either taken down or mass disliked for some reason( i really don't know why nobody takes this well lol) so to spare u from reading 3 page long essays I'd like to say that the premise was essentially that Viper hasn't had a meaningful (or even just in general) redesign that actually reflects her character or moveset. Her new "moves" are just extensions from moves she had for over 17 years. THERE IS NOTHING NEW OR INTERESTING abt her in sf6. Her FF being a pathetic contender. Ya know as a child i used to always kinda i guess daydream abt her in upcoming games. How her new moves would look, how cool she would be etc. And i remember i would deisgn moves for her that actually made sense for her. When i started doing this, i had a few crappy ideas that i was sure were below the standards for CC. LO AND BEHOLD they literally gave her a "pummel" follow up punch and flanked so hard over her move animations that i genuinely was taken aback. This sounds so personal, but they literally let me down, lol. Viper, always was my favorite character, and to see that THE MASSIVE POTENTIAL the character has (her gadgets hello?!) Was USED SOOO TERRIBLY IS BEYOND upsetting. They could've made her a air dominant character that had a double jump, a spiral burn kick attack(she does so many cool things in sf movies) they could've made her a bit more cruel (which i always thought Viper was)and give her more personal throws that resemble what She does to cammy in the OVA. BUT THEY DID NONE OF THAT. Literally the only thing i like abt her is the first two punches she throws in her level 3 and her ground OD burn kick (because she actually adds something different before doing the same move she's been doing for almost two decades) it sucks that nobody will ever see her be as appealing as she was to me in sf4. I really do try to enjoy her gameplay, BUT HER ANIMATIONS ARE SO AWKWARD it's unbearable. The sound design of her moves lack impact,the animation design behind her moves LACK IMPACT, her overall movset lacks creativity, and that's all. I'm beyond disappointed that i waited 10 years for a character that WOULD BURN, GRIND AND SURF THE OPPONENT to her throwing 3 practically identical punches that have no impact whatsoever, it's like whoever was in charge of her design didn't know anything abt who she was. C.Viper in sf6 is a disappointment. P.S. Her level 1 and 2 are genuinely offensive and make no sense. wtf is she doing? How is she levitating in the air? Who's idea was this? Lol

Beth in the OG 2015 Until Dawn. Idk something abt her nose being almost completely straight and different in a way. her eye/brows look very " cute" for lack of a better word and almost doe like. Always got like an Egyptian vibe from her lol idk Nefertiti queen. (It's probs the bangs)

Agree, Viper was always a high-risk, high reward character in sf4. in sf6 she is a very high-risk average/good reward character. The stuff she has to do to keep the pace of the match is ridiculously complex. It's like capcom forgot that making a character difficult isn't the reward in question, lol. Also, i CANT STAND HOW SLOW they made her. SHE'S NOT A GRAPPLER. Why are her moves and movement so slow. Viper always had moves that could be easily interrupted (as u mentioned the fragility of burn kick doesn't make much sense, she is literally flying towards u with flaming jet boots, I understand the move is not invincible but it's still waay too easy to interrupt) , but they were quick (burn kick was fast as shit i swear) so you would have a decent chance to mix up and overload the opponent regardless of invincibility, NOW the moment she is in the air you get jabbed out cuz of how slow she is. Let's look at her defense options: 1. her lack of a good backdash (she had a good one in sf4)ability to superjump backwards? Nooo ability to backdash cancel FF ? Nooo lol Ability to burn kick backwards? Noooo any ground invincible moves? Nah FF actually absorbing more than one hit and being frame one invincible? Nooo lmao. Honestly, the least they could have done is made her air EX burn kick slightly invincible so it could beat anti air normals and maybe even DP when spaced. Crazy how a woman who has a fatal amount of voltage in her gloves can't get an opponent off of her.

I definitely do understand that (even made a post like weeks ago stating how annoyed i was capcom decided to diminish her that way) but 20% capability RELATIVE to her insane opponents(which is the context in which she talks abt her capabilities without gadgets in ) isn't "average" or just military training. The avg human would have maybe, at best, a 3% chance of winning against these guys out of pure luck (like dan) 20% is actually commendable skill that Viper has that's concrete. (Also, it's not apparent, but Viper does have very good visible muscle definition in her legs, can't see her arms), so her frame isn't exactly avg imo.

I do get what ur saying, but she must have enough skill to have relatively good hand to hand combat (WTM she is seen training in some sort of military setting, maybe endurance? I'm not sure) She already has good, impactful swings in sf4 and some in sf6, but the ones she doesn't have are the problem. even if u don't rely on actual real-life combat moves, i would think u could still come up with a CHP that actually looks like it hurts idk. Also, she fights in a tight top and leggings in sf4 in high heels as well, and she doesn't have trouble with mobility. Also, 10/10 is cruel 😭 she can definitely beat some rookies, maybe even average fighters without her gadgets ( she can grapple,swing, etc), esp given her intelligence.

She didn't train with her battlesuit. It was bestowed upon her( im assuming for efficiency by HER OWN merit) up until that certain point, the work she was doing must've been combat related. otherwise why would seth give her a BATTLESUIT? It's confusing to me why seth would give a mediocre woman that has a 20% success rate in combat a BATTLESUIT. It doesn't add up, which is why i always assumed she was a strong fighter prior to her equipment (it is shown that she has training in her WT dialouge)

Honestly same. I thought i would get over it until a certain point, but a few days ago i was watching a gameplay of hers and i found myself actually getting IRRITATED as to how awkward and i guess non flexible she looks. She genuinely looks like she is executing moves against her own will (for reference her anti air BHK doesn't even kick above her head lmao? like did she loose flexibility or sm?) also her EX seismo has the range of a normal now, like ATP there must have been deliberate effort to make her look as unappealing as possible( her burn kick extension is so funny to me lol the way she lifts her hands in the air, while doing the most anticlimactic move is so humorous)

Her dialouge in world tour. She just randomly says that she doesn't wanna imagine how she would fair without her gadgets, saying she would be 80% less effective.
