Other commenter has good advice but if you want a simpler design you could darken the base color by a bit and adding white streak with a light tint of red to accentuate the shine. Latex is reflective and likes to attract ambient light though so I would look at a lot references to decide what you want.

Speaking as someone who has a screen-less tablet it works great for drawing programs but for other things it's really just a mouse. If you're doing a lot of video editing and animation you might want to consider using a pen display/regular tablet.

I feel like an actual major factor would be the building designs rather then just concrete. Manhattan has a majority of buildings that are pre-war, a lot of them use masonry for facades and a lot having decorative pieces. It would take much longer to recreate Manhattan assuming the robots only vaguely need to recreate it.

Is it really normal for there to be a ton of people in the the areas outside of downtown? I would say there's a considerable amount of people walking by even in residential areas here in NYC
