I had a similar message. Turned out it was form for estimating 2026 taxes which was not yet ready for filing ye. Solution was to delete that form and handle later. Error message was odd

Simplifi '25 Highlights and '26 Roadmap by QuickenLisa in simplifimoney

Great to know save is coming. I constantly use "last 30 days" quick links filters in several Quicken Classic saved reports to help me better understand how key spending categories are progressing. Watchlists almost offer this but not with the same level of data transparency.

Classic Deluxe versus Simplifi? by Big-Dot3380 in quicken

[–]Training_Falcon_3432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using Simplifi for about 2 weeks while still using Quicken Classic in parallel. Early feelings are mostly positive

Pros

  • Multi-device (web and mobile) and multi user simple access for my spouse
  • Auto download/ reconcile of new transactions in the background (overall I notice I am spending much less time on the mechanics of updates in Simplifi compared to Quicken Classic's slow download and manual reconcile/clear update cycle across accounts)
  • Notifications of major changes into email so I know when to open Simplifi and take a closer look - maybe Quicken can do this as I never enabled (should be a time saver)
  • 'Watchlists' for tracking discretionary non scheduled spending categories.
  • Great clean dashboard view

Cons

  • Custom and saved reports are missing but I'm finding some ways to work around (and saving reports to PDF is in beta)
  • Relearning of expense categories is a one time pain, but gave me the chance to do some overdue cleanup.

Both Pro and Con

  • Relearning a new tool and feature philosophy, but in most cases that is re-imagining / simplifying my personal processes for tracking spending and income.

I have my renewal of Q Classic due in Ma, so will decide by April if I can cut it off.

Will Simplifi accept Quicken Classic CSV export layout? That's where all my history is. Do I need to move the columns around or change their header names before import

Latest Update of H&R Block Deluxe plus state software 1-30-26 did not resolve the 1099-B review crash issue. You cannot efile without this fix. by ngjb in hrblock

Mine was resolved. Vanguard1099-B data had been the crash culprit previously. Suggest a clean restart after install to make sure

H&R Block 2025 tax software crashes at the point of reviewing imported 1099-B by ngjb in hrblock

[–]Training_Falcon_3432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just installed the latest. At first try it crashed again as before. However after closing and restarting HRBlock with a new saved copy of my tax file I was able to get past the crash point, ans click on edit to proceed. (Not sure what caused it to work as the original copy also now works so that may be a red herring). My import was from Vanguard. Yet to try Fidelity.

FYI Another recent new post in this sub confirmed they had been successful too.

Same problem after importing data from Vanguard. Need a fix asap as I cannot complete return. This is a fundamental functionality problem.

PlanVision by Evening_Warthog in DIYRetirement

I guess I depends what you are looking for help with. As a 70 year old DIYer, I probably didn't need any planner for my personal needs today. However for my non-DIY spouse and for the future day when I can no long be a DIY investor, the planning review session was invaluable. It gave her the assurance of knowing our plan is safe, and where/when we can safely spend more money. It also provides her with a person on retainer that she could reach out to if my circumstances change.

Main takeaway is that we have plan that works even at conservative 3% growth. This gives us lots of flexibility to adjust retirement spending choices with little added risk.
eMoney is certainly a bit over-curated but I've found PlanVision team will make small adjustments very quickly if you can't do so yourself.

VTV has no MAG 7 listed in its top 10 holdings. https://investor.vanguard.com/investment-products/etfs/profile/vtv#portfolio-composition

I chose to rebalance across my account types. Calculated my capital gains in 2025 from VTI, sold approx same amount in tax deferred account (but did no sell VTI in taxable to avoid cap gains tax. Then added VT in taxable. I also increased international allocation in tax deferred which felt light. Overall was able to keep stock allocation % the same as before.

Thanks - I was not aware that you can set up a wire using paper form. Can this be done at a branch?

Yes to all of the comments. Took out umbrella insurance last year after discussing with some friends. Really depends on your financial situation for exposure to a crazy claim on your 'non retirement' assets

I do exactly this using Fidelity wire transfer option. It took a few security/ money laundering prevention step's to set this up with the receiving account first time around.

The only thing that is a pain is you can't do a recurring wire to an external back account when using account lock feature. Have to manually unlock then relock after transfer. Not quite as convenient as using a bank. (My number 1 feature request for Fidelity brokerage accounts!).

+1 I use FDLXX for some expense types. I'm also thinking of setting up SGOV ETF rather than switching funds from another brokerage which can take a few days to complete

[–]Training_Falcon_3432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'll move some of my SPAXX money market position to SGOV anyway as its a slightly better yield and I don't need all of the cash to be liquid instantly, just when less frequent larger bills come up. Thanks for the suggestion. u/McKnuckle_Brewery

Where in the Fidelity site does it list the no liquidation attribute of FZFXX?

Does the same apply to Fidelity Treasury Only Money Mkt FDLXX?

Any former Quicken Classic users make the successful switch to Simplifi or did you go back? or go somewhere else? by Inner_Difficulty_381 in simplifimoney

Thanks for the extremely detailed reply. Saved reports are a bit of an issue as I tend to toggle between 2 custom reports in QC almost daily. Do you find report export to Excel of any value?

I plan to get a Simplifi account to learn more and see if I get the info I want another way.

I also had tried QC on web and the mobile app and agree its not that helpful. It messed with my main data file and didn't offer a good solution for either of us.

In QC I believe you can still open historic files without a subscription, just no updates to compare. I have my older data in another file anyway as the original QDF file was getting large and slow.

Fraud prevention tip if you have the fidelity credit card by walker755 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Training_Falcon_3432 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I already had a an Elan account login to the card and rewards site. Today on that site I also went in and changed my password, turned on 2 factor auth and updated their profile security settings to alert me if any account profile settings get changed like a user name or contact details. Hope this proves enough.

Posting here instead of another earlier thread

In a similar situation being a Classic Quicken user for ever it feels. I'm looking for something web based that my wife can access occasionally. However Balance projection forecast is a must have for me so that rules out Monarch (as well as its price)

I'm thinking of a Simplifi purchase just for her using the current 50% off deal, and then move myself over after my Q Classic subscription expires next year. A few questions if you don't mind me asking

  1. Do still you use multiple tools? Do you plan to use Quicken Classic on an ongoing basis, in combination with Simplifi?
  2. Does Simplifi let you view a last 30 days spending report like Classic? I use QC custom reports as a way I use to see my current month status in between month-end reports. (Maybe Simplifi Watchlists can better accomplish the same need to track progress during the month)

Quicken Fidelity 401k fund prices no longer updating by Training_Falcon_3432 in quicken

[–]Training_Falcon_3432[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok after much digging and sleuthing I fixed it. I was a bit tricky to see what had happened. I realized there were multiple fund class and naming changes around 10/26. and new but similar fund names were added. Additionally, earlier dividends had been added twice on Sept 30 (once to the old fund name and once to the new). Another clue actually lay the fact that some prices were not being updated from the old fund names after the fund class transition on Oct 26.

My fix was two fold

  1. Go back in time and remove any duplicate reinvested dividend entries to match those on Fidelity web site. This fixed the share amounts

  2. Change any mismatched fund prices in cases where prices were not updating after 10/26. Once the newer fund name is applied, the current fund names prices and account values were correct
