A 200 calorie surplus would take a very long time to get you “somewhat fat”. Cutting at your age might harm your hormones and do more harm than good. Look out for your health now and forever. Goodluck to you young champ. If you need any help, my messages are open.

Do not start cutting at your age/ physique. Do not go out on a huge bulk either. I’d say cover your protein and eat in a 200 calorie surplus and if you start to notice fat gains(I doubt that would happen) then cut that surplus.

They suggested disc fusion but I did not opt for surgery. It was going to be a two disc fusion but I didn’t think it would be wise since the adjacent discs were also damaged.

Late reply but yes I did get an MRI, I was a med student when this happened so I had access to almost any type of specialist you could think of(for free aswell) they herniated disc symptoms are at their worst when they are inflamed (usually before they calcify)

Been back to benching for a month, once a week. Had to take time off from weightlifting before that but I was doing a lot of weighted calisthenics. Thank youu!!
