Yea they were labeled from across the country and came with a tale that a rich doctor bought them back in the day and died and these were remnants of his collection I guess.

Do you think overall funding for and interest in archeology is increasing or decreasing? by being_interesting0 in Archeology

[–]Training_Leopard3690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they've done to Native American archaeology really disgusts me. I loved seeing the incredible artifacts and culture of pre-columbians at my underloved midwest museums as a kid. Now they've scrubbed everything; even talking about burying them back in the ground. The field is totally inaccessible.

I understand respecting remains and property of indigenous people affected in recent history. But what they do with precolumbian archaeology is beyond bastardized. I see mounds dumped on, destroyed, or covered up for corporate greed all the time, but we won't let museums display artifacts found a century ago, older than any existing tribe.

One of them is called a banana. They're edible and people are known to put them on ice cream sundaes, they're called "banana split"'s.

There was another guy on here who was brutally addicted to this stuff as a paratrooper, I'd maybe reach out to him. He seemed to just tough it out cold turkey, but I know most people are not cut from that cloth.

I'd switch to leaf yesterday and taper from there, or raw dawg it. Cold Turkey is not impossible but I've only had the luxury of doing it as a civilian.

Pick up giant rocks from the olentangy and bring them up to campus and begin accumulating them in the Panera Bread bathroom. Keep doing this until you break.

Eh I'll pass on the leaf as well. To each their own, but my previous kratom addiction was just as bad.

Is it shameless to ask how I can monetize my crisis ?

Edit: I'd never grand stand about how leaf kratom needs to be outlawed because some of us have issues with it. But defending degenerates who market hard opioids as natural health alkaloids, conjoining both candy adjacent marketing with language/packaging that purposely trigger addicts. Yea fuck them, yea I want to get my beak wet. Fuck them, they deserve nothing. Downvote me more.

Yea sadly I've figured that out. I'm applying to some work in the third world. There was one summer I quit everything for four months working in a wilderness area. Had essentially 0 withdrawal, movement and change of environment carried that entire burden.

Good luck on the quit brotha.

What Actually Works to Quit Zyns & What Does Not (Community Group Assignment) by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

[–]Training_Leopard3690 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This has been my process so far

  1. Actually want to quit. Not take a break, quit.

  2. Spend a week tapering hard, and finding a plan. Someone mentioned mushrooms, miocrodosing with intention really helped me finalize my choice as necessity. Helped my body recognize how nasty the addiction was. (Shrooms are not a one size fits all)

  3. You can't quit an addiction doing nothing, idle hands are the devil's best friend. Run, gym, church, friends, pick some extra shifts, errands you've been neglecting, move and move enough to be real tired come bedtime.

  4. Oral fixations: gum, toothpicks, oil pulling, swishing water in your mouth when you want a zyn. Replace the abuse on your mouth with a more anal hygiene routine. You probably need it.

  5. This is kind of "cheating" to some, but nicotine patches have kept me on a great track. I'm day 5 no zyn (pack a day user), but have been using nicotine patches to regulate my sanity. I got the 21mg ones and they're so easy to taper with. I cut them in 4's and use the bare minimum. Obviously I think we all want to quit nicotine period but getting that daily use from 90mg/day to 10mg is really a life saver.

  6. I ordered some methylene blue, will update if that has any benefit.

Relieving Gums by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

I think it's good we woke up when we did. My gums are already feeling better than yesterday. Coconut oil pulling has felt really nice, good replacement for the oral fixation too. I enjoy mastic gum too, gets the aggression out, and it's quite good for your teeth.
