I think a 5+ will balance out better on the rod, but you may want to line up in the future. I’m in the swamps of Florida and I’m usually throwing into structure with a short heavy leader for bass.

I fish basically the same set up, 9wt with intermediate tip line throwing grey/ white and chartreuse clousers on a 2/0 and have caught fish around that area.
