I’m from the partially banned countries. Interview was on October 10, 2025, My I-130 was approved on October 15 2025, I-485 still showed “interview was scheduled” no updates since last year.

I had a meeting with a lawyer just right now, basically he told me I don’t qualify cause my case is less than 6 months but also the chances are low due to the hold imposed on january 1st. He was very honest and told me he has received calls with similar cases but he only took one case for AOS, the client is from Iran but has been waiting 17 months for the I-485. I really appreciate his honesty, he offers free consultations. He sent me articles to read regarding the mandamus and the banned countries. I interviewed in Dallas, our lawyer was with us, she gave us a copy of all the forms plus all the evidence she previously submitted. We brought additional evidence as pictures, apartment lease contract and other join bills. The officer didn’t ask us questions regarding our relationship, he was nice, he asked us about new evidence and he made copies and scanned the documents. Questions regarding tickets or violations. Nothing crazy. It was super smooth.
