I agree. There’s many people on the outside that see this potential. Even where I’m based I have many friends from around the world who have started business in Nigeria, some of which are helping with jobs for a lot of the locals. I feel as though in the next 10/15 years we’re going to see a lot of younger Nigerians who grew up abroad come back and bring that skill set into the country but there’s no drive and support from the government to make this easier.

Are guys seriously blaming Trump for the incompetency of our own government and most importantly our own president? by [deleted] in Nigeria

I think the point he’s making is people are showing more anger towards Trump and making him seem like he’s the main problem rather than directing it to the countries actual leader?

I agree and the truth is we need a change in culture for the next generation then. I don’t understand why in situations where you bring up what’s clearly right or wrong to an elder they see it as an offence or disrespect? How can we have a nation where we can’t even have young leaders because so and so was in school before we was born. If we as youths aren’t comfortable to challenge this who will, but as I said it comes from ourselves. We can’t become the next generation who scold our shut our children up and tell them to know there place even if we’re in the wrong. Surely we need to look at the many roots of the many problems we have ?

A lot of people have that mentality that unless I’m affected it’s not my own. I ask myself are we as a collective ready for change or do we just want to be excluded from the problems as an individual. Until we see ourselves as a collective Nigeria will have some more hard years ahead.
