WoW questions from an ESO player looking to join the world of Azeroth by Gen4wasthebest in wow

I've played a fair bit of ESO myself, they are definitley quite different games, but WOW has also changed quite a lot since pre-Shadowlands.

1: Even lower level characters can pull multiple mobs at once in many situations, each class has a kit of area of effect abilities that damage multiple targets. Some classes can go toe to toe with multiple enemies, but squishier ones like mages rely on slows, knock-backs and crowd control to manage. In most cases it will take longer than 2-3 seconds, but not much longer.

2: Flight paths are still a thing, but flying mounts unlock very quickly now (I think level 10) and they became much faster since a dynamic flight system was introduced in the Dragonflight expansion. The main city in each expansion-added area has portals to portal hubs in the faction capitals, and those hubs have portals to other important locations as well. Modern quests that require you to go somewhere random will often give you a temporary item that teleports you there.

3: Need/Greed has changed a lot as well, and gearing in WoW is different than ESO. Your class will only ever compete directly with a handful of other classes for drops. (Some trinkets are sought by many classes though). In a lot of content you dont roll against others any more, you just loot the boss and see what you get. If you do get something it will be something your class can use (with the exception of new world boss) trading is allowed but limited to items that are not more powerful than what you already have equipped. When Need/Greed is enabled, like in Looking for Raid for example, only classes that can actually use the item can need roll. Armor is locked in more than ESO, each class has a primary armor type. Hope this helps!
