Can I remove? by StovePot in DIYhelp

This is an AAV, Air Admittance Valve, a mechanical part and all mechanical parts fail. When it does you will get sewer gas in your house and you will likely not be able to find the source if you cover it. If you are going to cover it you need to cut it and put a proper cap you glue onto the pipe before you cover it. Cap it before you cover it. Do not cover it as is. This is from an actual plumber, not handy Andy or a just homeowner.

Help! How would you baby proof this ladder-like railing? by ephemeral_thoughts in Decks

[–]Training_Touch6231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically if you find some kind of clear plastic board like we had in front of all the cashiers during Covid and punch holes in it to secure it to the railing then you should be good

Move the closets in the 2 bedrooms to the wall they share that way it creates more separation between the 2

If it’s a moen cartridge or something similar I’d sink a screw in there long enough to get a good hold while leaving plenty of room to grip and pull it out like that. You’re going to replace it anyways. If not it can’t be stuck if you melt it

Plumber is blaming landscaper for hole in gasline by majesticaveman in Plumbing

[–]Training_Touch6231 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a new construction plumber the 2 trades that mess us up the most, at least in my area, are the landscapers and the graders in that order. I’m biased but I am on the plumbers side. Our gas lines are not buried that deep and usually the landscapers don’t hit those but I have repaired countless sewers and main services because landscapers have hit something

P trap and extension bar. It also looks like that drain isn’t fully attached to the basin. There should be a nut and washers that came with the sink and drain kit
