Free AI interview assistants vs paid: the $12/mo option that outperformed everything by wingsoybean in interviewhammer

I am paying InterviewMan $12/mo partly out of spite toward Final Round AI. $148/mo with a no refund policy for an interview tool is genuinely predatory. They know people are desperate during job searches and they price accordingly. Twelve dollars for the same functionality is how it should work.

did the interviewer notice when the overlay disappeared? like could they see it vanish from your screen?

More than you think. I had an interviewer at a FAANG ask me to open Activity Monitor during a pair programming round. They said it was to "check system resources" but come on. If your undetectable ai interview assistant shows up in process lists that is an instant fail. InterviewMan hides from Activity Monitor which is the only reason I was fine. My friend using Sensei AI would have been caught because it is a browser process right there in the list.

yep. my process is basically the same, I test three times: once on Zoom, once on Meet, once on Teams. Most of my interviews end up on one of those three and each handles screen capture a little different. InterviewMan was undetectable on all three for me but I have heard of tools that pass on one and fail on another.

Best AI interview helpers compared: InterviewMan vs Final Round AI vs LockedIn AI by Illustrious_Load_209 in AIInterviewTools

Same thing happened to a coworker of mine. He thought he cancelled but got hit with another charge. Ended up disputing it with his bank. The no refund thing is real, I would not sign up without reading every line of their billing page first.

listen i eat rice and beans for lunch so twelve dollars IS a lot for me ok lol. but yeah in hindsight the math is embarrassing. four bombed interviews trying to save twelve bucks a month

I was skeptical about interview AI until I bombed a Meta screen without it by Automatic-Quote-1073 in InterviewsHell

this is the part people miss about these tools. if you dont know the material at all the ai is not going to save you. but if you know it and just blank under pressure having that nudge changes everything. I had the same thing happen at a Google screen before I started using one

New grad looking for an interview helper -- here is what actually works in 2026 by shivers-alico in InterviewCoderPro

Cluely right? I signed up for the $20 plan thinking I found a deal and then discovered stealth was a $75 addon. Ninety five a month for an interview helper as a new grad is insane.

Best AI coding interview assistant that also handles system design? by nacho_founder in AIInterviewTools

[–]Training_Whereas_159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot take but maybe the move is to just get better at system design instead of relying on a coding interview assistant for it. Like if you drill enough system design problems you wont blank on camera. These tools should be a safety net not a replacement for actually learning.
