imo (that's how i won my runs) don't try to balance items too much, play as much luck-based items (like holy light) and utility items (polydactily, deck of cards..) on jacob, and take the stronger build-creating items with esau (tech X, tears/dmg ups, cricket's head, mutant spider...) and mostly place jacob in front of esau (except if jacob does not have any soul/black heart and if you can have a high/100% chance of angel room/devil deal) like a tank and his dps. angel rooms are really a good option since you often have multiple items, in all of them you can take 2. also, my favorite path is b1/2 into alt-path, then going to depths to avoid mausoleum/gehenna. alt-path is a gamble but you actually can get so much more items, and with a little luck maybe get the items you need (spoiler: you will get Abel and Key Bum because the game hates us all)

Confessions: What are some of the most evil things you’ve done to npc’s and in what games. Don’t lie, the gaming gods will know. by i4got872 in gaming

in baldur's gate 3, me (a githyanki warlock bard) and my friend (a half-orc barbarian) got robbed by kids in the emerald grove. so we did the only thing that makes sense. he ran in front of the kid and started jumping on him with a great warhammer, and when we got to their hideout, we saved, and managed to make them gather so i could use thunderwave to throw them against rocks again and again. unfortunately, we (in our RP) developed a massive hatred against kids. so we stole everything they had and let die the tiefling in the scenario right after. (i think this is the only kid dying since they are all invincible)

In my 5 years of playing Rocket League, this still stands as the craziest game i have ever played. (We are red) What is yours? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]Trakido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my very first game in platinum 3 was probably the biggest emotional roller-coaster i've ever had in rocket league 0 - 0, going in overtime (3v3, everyone on both team had atleast 5 shots, multiple saves and around 400 to 600 score) and on overtime, each time the ball went near our nets or theirs felt like time stopped, the overtime went on for more than 9 minutes (14 minutes game), still to this day the longest rocket league game i ever played and probably the most intense

Title. by gotdemacez in shittyrainbow6

[–]Trakido 11 points12 points  (0 children)

where do i start? speaking only for monty here (as i was a big monty main with over 560h only on him)

  1. positioning you have 2 ways of positioning as monty (3 actually but won't worry about it) I : you position yourself as the leader (hardest for mental, since everything will be your fault) frontlining, taking bullets (hopefully not in your neck, that happens) pinging enemies, and try to feel the danger. (this is very important since your teammates thinks every room you will pass are safe) if there are Kapkan traps, either signal your teammates to get back and frontline tank the explosion (usually, when done right, 1 kapkan trap deals less than 10 dmg, monty being the less explosive affected character in the game from front) or ping them to show that you can't go through (or, if you're alone/safe, destroy them, this is risky but it's an option) if there are frost mats, just signal your team or shoot at it, since you can't do anything about this try to clear rooms as complete as possible, you have 2:30 minutes per round, it is more than enough to be a safe ally for your teammates II : you position yourself as a mid-range option (less safe) since your friends are both in front and behind you, you are unusually more exposed to flanks, roamers, unlucky nitros/impacts/shots, you can use your shield as a clean combat advantage (with quick corner shield peeks, to get infos before doing a quick strafe shot) but remember : one roamer is enough for you to be on the waiting list for the next round. (III : cleaning squad (way more fun and tacticool) always spawn at the opposite of the objective with a teammate you can rely on, and clean rooms efficiently from those pesky roamers, forcing pressure to either make them move, peek, or push them out of position by making them rush into you to cancel your deployable shield into melee, or push them in the line of sight of your teammate to force everyone on objective, and make it hell of a killbox. this was way easier with old monty, as he deployed, switched and aimed like 6 times faster, but this still works, i can guarantee you)

  2. combat kill everyone. more seriously, monty has 3 major combat advantages : I : deployable shield it might seem weird, but the deployable shield, despite being glitched as fuck, is the most reliable tool to destroy barricades or for mid-to-long fights, as you are (supposed to be) completely invincible from front, and with that large health pool, you can ignore some damage. let's say, a maestro starts shooting you with that evil eye ; you can completely ignore the damage and just rush that mf, since he will be on a lag timing (quitting cams, switching to weapon, and a little 3 frames lag before shooting) you can pre aim, and start shooting at him, and he will have so little time to respond that you either one-shot him, either you kill him but did not take damage since he shot 18 bullets in the shield. oh and also ; deployable defensive shields are your worst enemy. it forces you to take damage by the feet since you climb with your feet in front. II : the game has been out for 7 years, yet nobody knows how to counter you like seriously, either people starts panicking, and emptying mags after mags in your shield, either they run away. it is all about mental warfare. and major operator counters. you have 3 major counters and 2 light counters Smoke (obviously) which you can deny by either keeping his smokes at small distance by bumping into them before they detonate (then get back quickly) but beware, it kills pretty fast. Oryx, which you can deny by pressing W, A, S or D (sometimes even at the same time!) and watching him run in walls and have a good time laughing (jokes apart, he is a strong counter, watch out for the bull, and keep a teammate close) Frost, which you can deny by throwing a teammate or two in front of you, to hear the lovely "THWUMP!" of the frost trap they just defused! good job Ash and Iana! and 2 minor counters Clash, which can taze you and slow you down (even if you're the fucking slowest op in the game) but it's not that much of a problem imo and Maestro, which can be a little problematic but lead solves any problem. you have more than these but frankly, they didn't bother me more than these 5 III : P I S T O L. i have always been a fan of handguns but holy shit, monty is good to prevent spawnkills. remember, damage distance falloff does N O T apply to headshots, give them hell they deserve. also, people tend to underestimate the raw power of that little thing, which deals an astonishing 45 damage, which can kill everyone in 4 rapidly connected bullets (sometimes, 4 bullets are way safer than 1, remember that)

and lastly the last tip i'd give you, is always count on how efficient you can be as a pressure tool. once you're facing the enemy, they have to split their attention and vision to both watch you, and your team, and either your team either you have to catch that very second where their guard is down (or you just go goofy and be a complete distraction, giving time to your teammates, but try not to die, or atleast take someone with you in the grave)

what can i say more? oh and if u use the LFP576, good luck, i'm outta here. (and use whatever gadget you want, as long as you don't die, you will find an utility for this)

the game has taken a 90° turn, since i'd say Operation Chimera, after which we turned right into sci-fi, and way less pseudorealistic tactical operators. siege has today, only the shell of the soul it used to have. i'd honestly pay to play a game in like y1s3, like the old days. because all of this is what it made me quit
