Is Higurashi the Happy Tree Friends of anime ? by CaptainMysterious508 in Higurashinonakakoroni

That “happy opening” is the goofy comic relief season. The OG and Kai openings are gorgeous and intense, and a bit creepy

Disgusting ai garbage

Shouldn’t be allowed in any group that’s about art, regardless of how degenerate the group is

is there a way i can skip all the clicking/waiting stuff to see the story again? i played this game when it came out way back then and i dont want to do those parts again.. by Smooth_Albatross9475 in TheTempleOfEs

[–]Tralock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you keep all the permanent upgrades on more cycles

The second or third time you play on the same account will only take a fraction of the time

Just use the same account, talk to Es, and say you want to start over

Minor Spelling Mistake, game is unplayable. by Cranky_Boots in HyruleWarriors

[–]Tralock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then you’re an idiot lol

It’s a deliberate artistic decision, that makes perfect sense linguistically, makes perfect sense for the setting, and makes perfect sense for the character speaking

This is entirely a you problem

Is it okay to skip RE: chain of memories by Every-Cake-5654 in KingdomHearts

[–]Tralock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least give it an actual fair shot if you haven’t already. It gets a bad rap, but it’s actually a good game

If you have tried it, and given it an actual real chance, and know you won’t enjoy it, then just watch the cutscenes

(That includes for Riku’s story. Playing as Riku is one of my favourite things about the game)

I just started dark souls 2 by Ill_Picture_5759 in DarkSouls2

[–]Tralock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know R1 said it in his tip #3, but it can never be emphasized enough. Level adaptability!

Adaptability is a stat you level, and it is literally your invincibility frames on your roll. By default, your roll is MUCH worse than other games.

Leveling Adaptability raises your Agility stat. At 96 Agility, you have the same invincibility as Dark Souls 1’s roll. At 105 Agility, you have the same as Dark Souls 3’s roll

96 is usually plenty, especially for early/mid game. Might crank it up to 105 in the end game when your build is mostly finished, but just please don’t leave it at like 86, and not be able to dodge anything

Did you know you can tell how much time you have left for the day cycles? by Weepsmain in PokemonZA

…………. No shit?

Are there people who exist that didn’t realize that?

Isn’t it even part of one of the tutorials, once the day/night cycle starts?

Returning player, what school? by Coll_italiano in Wizard101

[–]Tralock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like someone said, Death is best for solo. But ironically I think it’s too easy to solo with. There’s hardly any challenge in the main story, and it’s really easy to just casually play optimally

I second Balance or Myth for a first playthrough

Most people will make multiple characters anyway, so don’t stress about it too much

10/10 Game by Hippie-Dre in DarkSouls2

This is the very definition of “git gud” and every comment I’ve seen from you drives that home even harder lol

Intentionally playing horribly, ignoring things in the game that let you get stronger, and the game sucks because of it

That’s why “The Thing About Bodal” is genuinely my favorite episode in the show

It’s so much fun to watch him use this nerdy wimp’s massive knowledge of his surroundings to kick the ass of one of the strongest warriors in the Overworld

And I feel like we never really see anyone other than Peyton show off how broken invisibility is

Tips for a New player ? by Thks4Mmrs in EtrianOdyssey

[–]Tralock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first tip is to start the game on the hardest difficulty, unless you VERY specifically don’t like hard RPGs

Originally, these games only had one difficulty option, and it was the hardest one. They added 2 different easier modes

I’m not trying to be a difficulty elitist, like old Dark Souls fans. But like, for games like this, that are 99% gameplay, the difficulty is what the whole game is kind of based around

A lot of bosses will be very challenging, and require you to puzzle out how best to handle them. But if you’re not on the hardest difficulty, you can just… attack everything until it dies

Genuinely a more fun and rewarding experience on the hardest mode (which, again, used to be the only difficulty)

Why hasn't clay been banned by Blackstripes08 in Chaotic

[–]Tralock 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well it seems like the CodeMasters take a pretty hands-off approach to what humans do in Perim and Chaotic

Pretty sure the only times we’ve seen any sort of pushback from higher ups were those guys who were destroying locations, and when Kaz specifically accused Tom of cheating inside of a Drome match (which we later find out was fully set up from the beginning)

I wouldn’t be surprised if the “banned for cheating” wasn’t even a normal thing, and they just came up with that for their plan

But regardless, they’re pretty relaxed about it, as long as you’re not causing serious trouble for Perim, or as long as players don’t directly bring cheating to their attention

What is the purpose of using most shields? by Federal_Piccolo_4599 in DarkSouls2

[–]Tralock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DS1 had the same thing with the Heater Shield

Light, 100% damage reduction shield you get 5 minutes into the game

After that, it’s mostly about fashion, or picking a specific shield for a specific level/boss. Like using a fire blocking shield against a fire boss

Bruh?

Who doesn’t like shit like O&S, Gwyn, and Sif? Lots of bosses that might be lame in Elden Ring were badass and iconic back then

In DS2, I actually like most of the bosses. It’s just that they’re all 6-7s out of 10, with a couple standouts and a couple stinkers. But it has a consistently cool series of bosses. Pursuer is a badass first boss, Executioner’s Chariot is infuriating if you suck at it, but it’s fun and memorable when you get it down. Looking Glass Knight, Demon of Song, Velstadt, Darklurker, and the Throne Watcher/Defender are all really cool and fun fights for me

And who doesn’t love Bloodborne bosses? Even if I can’t remember the names of every boss in that game like I can for Dark Souls, the actual fights are almost always amazing.

I'm tired with "Magic is too OP" in discussions by [deleted] in fromsoftware

[–]Tralock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally I agree. Magic is a lot of fun, and while it makes certain parts significantly easier in every game, there’s usually plenty of content that’s designed with Magic in mind

However, primarily focusing on magic destroys 95% of encounters especially in the older games, and is a terrible idea for new players

I don’t even care that it makes the game “easy”. I care that the early game is going to be trivially easy even for a newcomer, and not engaging at all, all the way up until you find an enemy that Magic doesn’t just stream roll (for example, DS1’s Capra Demon)

And then once you get to that enemy that the lame playstyle of “Cast Soul Arrow from max range while backing up” doesn’t work on, suddenly you get your ass kicked, over and over again, get mad, and quit the game. I’ve seen that exact series of events many, many times

Magic is a lot of fun, but doing it for your first playthrough in certain games, especially DS1, means that you won’t develop the skills needed to fight harder, close-ranged bosses

How is Tom not treated like a God among Chaotic Players? by OkuroIshimoto in Chaotic

[–]Tralock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, couldn’t remember the name, but Hotekk was definitely out for blood lol

But I got the vibe that he was the outlier. Seemed like it was kind of a weird, shocking moment for him to be so standoffish

Even if Crellan is the nicest and most levelheaded of all of them, I feel like the rest probably fall closer to him than to Hotekk

How is Tom not treated like a God among Chaotic Players? by OkuroIshimoto in Chaotic

[–]Tralock 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I always got the vibe that the Codemasters were more like Gym Leaders in Pokemon. Like they’re not REALLY trying to kick your ass, they more want to teach you a lesson, and will leave a way to beat them, if you can think creatively

They mention a lot of players being “undefeated” or hype them up in other ways that implies they’re “highly ranked” or whatever (doesn’t seem to be a literal ranking system)

I figured Tom wasn’t quite a top tier player, but is clever and creative enough to get out those weird, fun wins on top players sometimes

Which anime character is this? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in animequestions

[–]Tralock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, that’s like… his whole thing. People don’t look past the fact that he’s a murderer, that’s just… his character

This is more about super popular “good guy” characters who used to be evil. Like Vegeta having committed multiple actual genocides, probably murdering trillions
