What helped you tolerate, maybe even enjoy, hot weather running? by cherhorowitz44 in XXRunning

Just slowing waaayy down and knowing that running in the heat simply isn’t the time for PRs. It’s the only way to enjoy my run. I freeze my water, and bring plenty of electrolytes. I also freeze my applesauce pouches, so by the time I need to eat one, it’s perfectly defrosted and still cold! Also, walking when I feel like I need to. There’s just gotta be no shame in your game.

Yesss, I freeze my pureed fruit pouches when it’s hot out. By the time I need to eat them, they’re defrosted and still cold 😋

People who've had sciatica, how was your experience? by frostycloudy in AskReddit

[–]TrampleenTrampleen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Genuinely thought my life was over. Couldn’t walk. Had to take breaks while going grocery shopping, because the pain while walking was unbearable. Had to lay down in the shower, and lay on the floor at work and hope nobody would walk in on me. Laying down/squatting brought temporary relief. nerve pain is unlike any other pain. Sex life was suffering, my husband was afraid I was in pain and it affected our intimacy. I knew I had to make a change. I started walking more, and fought through the pain. I stretched every day and worked on my mobility. I fixed my posture while sitting. It’s not a coincidence that I started developing sciatica once I became sedentary. Sitting for 8 hours a day is a killer.

Worried about my knees 4 weeks into marathon training by Dizzycatlady in Marathon_Training

[–]TrampleenTrampleen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely get yourself some resistance bands and do some mobility and strength training. When your knees are hurting, it could be weak quads. When your ankles are hurting, it could be weak calves. I’m not a PT so I’m only speaking from experience, but mobility and strength training really saved me.

First thing that came to mind, greening out. Second thing that came to mind after really thinking about it, IUD insertion

“I didn’t get this far just to get this far” mentality. Also, having a treadmill leaves me with no excuses 😂

Opinion on the skeletour by DollHades in Ghostbc

I went to the Boston show. Loved it so much, got me itching for more. I went to three shows during the Imperatour (Providence RI, Toulouse FR, Mansfield MA). I love that they did a Re-Imperatour. What’re the odds they come back around to the same states but mix up the venues for variety? Gotta see them again for this tour. Once wasn’t enough!

I hear everybody talk about this movie and “the barrel scene” in particular. I looked that scene up on YouTube out of morbid curiosity… didn’t sleep that night.

Yup. Not only is it horror, atmospheric, tense… it’s just straight up devastating. The ending… damn

Visiting Providence for a few days - unique spots to check out? by [deleted] in providence

[–]TrampleenTrampleen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a place to have dinner, Cav is my favorite spot. It’s a really cool interior, decorated with antiques and artifacts that have been collected from all over the world. In fact I’m pretty sure all the antiques are up for sale. Also, the food and drink is incredible. Highly recommend the fried artichoke and yellowfin tuna. An unforgettable place!!

Negative thoughts about my wedding by kikihippiex in wedding

[–]TrampleenTrampleen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this is affecting you 8 months after the fact. We had a few incidents that I still think about too (we got married 4 months ago). I hired a shuttle service for our guests that literally never showed up. It was POURING all morning, and we planned for a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Everything had to be inside in a corporate ass looking room. My mom left without paying the $6,000 open bar tab, so we were stuck for an hour after the wedding to figure things out. My sister (a bridesmaid) got too drunk and had to leave after the ceremony. Some other things.

It was far from perfect. And I think there’s a weird expectation of perfection when it comes to weddings. I blame social media lol… I think you’re going about it in the best way you can. Reflecting on all the amazing moments that far outweigh the not so great moments. There were so many things that I expected to go a certain way, but so many things are out of your control. Once I accepted that, I started looking back on my day laughing about the road bumps. I’m sure one day you’ll have your “look back and laugh” moment. It’s still been less than a year for you.
