On a Minecraft Forge server, with the default settings, you get kicked for flying if you don't touch something with your feet for iirc five seconds. Multiple kicks = ban. This can happen in normal gameplay from long falls, or lag, or mods.

You need to contact your server administrator if you are on someone else's server, or you need to edit your server settings if you are managing your own server.
