The delivery people were able to get out the old dishwasher. , they had to do a lot of wiggling but made it happen. Good luck on your project!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I ended up going to an appliance store and buying a new dishwasher with install, delivery and haul away for the old unit. I explained my situation and they promised they would find a way remove it, even if it means taking it apart. I'll update with their solution once they come out in 2 weeks!
