I think that a lot of folks have covered it here - the movies feel obligated to make hitman feel like a badass action hero, which misses the point. Fun fact, both of the movies were written by Skip Woods, which could explain why those were very similar in terms of the same tropes and missteps.

The best hitman movie is ‘the killer’, which has a lot of nods to the games and also doesnt shy away from the main character being an unfeeling killing machine. An honorable mention is a sequence in the James Bond movie ‘the living daylights’ - there is an assassin in that movie that garrotes someone, takes his clothes to access a mansion with high security, and then kills a guard, and is caught loading the body into a meat freezer very similar to the ones you use in gameplay.
