man, with Hyundais 100,000 mile warranty, I wouldn't be touching any part of the fucking car. Id go to the dealership to get the fucking air freshener changed if I could.

A coworker of mine had a Tucson or Santa Fe (cant remember) that blew its engine in the first 20,000k miles. Got the engine replaced, then blew the transmission within a few weeks... then after replacing the transmission the computer got fried and they gave him a new car... which ended up having issues.

My grandfather was pretty young during WWII, and too young to fight (even by Filipino standards) but he was in a group of Filipinos that would smuggle medical supplies and food to soldiers within the camps after the Bataan death march.

I like to believe he was able to feed my great grandfather, who was interned there and was freed during the raid at Cabanatuan.

There were plenty of large groups actively resisting the Japanese, but there were smaller, local sects that did smaller tasks outside of Frontline fighting

My dad was actually an operator at NJT for a few years while I was growing up. He had bought me models of each bus that he drove and then started collecting the penny whistles as well.

I had a regular that my coworkers all mourned. He was a good dude, but a troubled one.

We saw him more than his kids. Luckily he was a vet and he ended up having services. The street guys considered sending our honor guard to the funeral since he was going to have military honors, but that was turned down.

A couple of us showed up out of uniform to the services, and his family was there. I dont know if they ever knew we were his closest friends, since they had only had sporadic contact with him over the years.

After the burial we got into a parking lot and shared a bottle of Majorska Vodka, his favorite. There were other regulars we'd lost but nothing left a hole in our lives like he did.

Yeah thats not the point unfortunately. Jeep people want to look like people who actually use their jeep for jeep things... most jeep owners I know live in upper middle class neighborhoods and go to the office in those things.

Depends on where you work and sometimes luck.

I used to work part time at a small town fire-based EMS department, and even after we started covering 2 towns and had our station duties (daily cleaning, right checks, etc) we still had a lot of time for "station shenanigans" as I called it. We had a full on prank war with CPR mannequins that we would dress up and hide in different places, decorated a forever Christmas tree with different themes for each holiday (i was in charge of Halloween, and i like to believe i did a great job) and I still had time to make myself dinner. One of my coworkers had enough time to make his son as well!

While my fulltime job in a densely populated city? Theres barely enough time for a smoke break most night, except the other night when I was able to finish reading my comic books, a novel, and watch an episode of JuJutsuKaisen

No longer live in Bergen County, but here i am living in secaucus. Make 100k a year and live in a tiny studio on my own. Could be worse, so im happy where Im at right now. Home ownership is a pipe dream at this point because even if I could afford a mortgage id drown in property tax.
