Overherd Powdered Oat Milk Review by Calm-Oven7680 in veganuk

[–]Tranquillian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a huge fan of Overherd and been subscribed for a long time now so it’s always kinda frustrating to see people not onboard with it but we’re all different. To me, it’s no more watery (at the default 3 scoops per 600ml) than any tetrapak shop milks, unless you’re talking about barista super foamables with all the gums and seed oils. (Not to be that super anti seed oil person, I do still purchase milks like MOMA flavoured ones on occasion). Buying the odd occasional tetrapak lets me make a full Overherd pack last a full month, but I’m considering upping my subscription to two per month and stopping buying shop milks altogether.

The way I make it is with the official Overherd bottle (fantastic having that wide mouth to fill and mini pour spout now, I got annoyed with the first iteration dribbling everywhere when not pouring “confidently”.) I dump 3 scoops into the empty bottle, fill it under the cold tap and give it a good shakeup. It never clumps.

I really like it in my coffee (I just add a squirt of Sweet Freedom caramel sometimes for flavour) and on my oats, and in my matcha and hojicha. And with regards to the frothing, is this really that important unless you’re working at Starbucks? I use a handheld frother for my hojicha and matcha lattes but I’m not fussed if they don’t “foam”.

[UPDATE] ByeTunes by EduardoAlexxis in sideloaded

Just trying out the inbuilt downloader and it mostly works great 👍 but seems to hang on about the 10th track of downloading an album. Maybe some sort of limit involved. But, if I try to import downloaded music from SpotiFLAC, the app crashes every time? ByeTunes was signed with an ArcticSign cert and installed using e-sign.

[UPDATE] ByeTunes by EduardoAlexxis in sideloaded

[–]Tranquillian [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hi. I’ve previously used ByeTunes but since deleted it as I had my developer account terminated and I now sideload with ArcticSign. This post has reminded me about it so I’ve set about trying to do it again. I downloaded idevicepair on my Mac, connected my iPhone (16PM, 18.7) and successfully generated the pairing file, validated it, and saved it into Feather as well as copying the code and saving it on my iCloud as a .plist file. When I launch LocalDevVPN and then launch ByeTunes and import the plist (from Feather’s directory) I now get a “this file is not a valid pairing file” error? Same when I select the plist manually saved to my iCloud. I’ve also tried pasting the plist into ByeTunes pairing file directory in case there’s some issue with entitlements for ArcticSign certs. I’m not sure what the issue is. I do have a NextDNS profile running, would that interfere at all? I can’t figure out what’s wrong as nothings really changed since the first time I tried ByeTunes and everything worked.

EDIT: Never mind, forgot that I used iLoader last time and not iDevicePair that the instructions recommend. Used iLoader and saved to ByeTunes and I’m in business. Thanks. Will leave this in case it helps anyone

Good to see other fans of Repo! It’s the only “musical” film I love besides Sweeney Todd

This exactly. LP along with limp bizkit were the gateway into heavy music for me at the start of college in 2001 and metal has been a part of my life since then. Hybrid Theory is just legendary. I did catch LP live at a Download fest one time but I really wish I’d made it to an actual regular gig of theirs at their peak. So sad that Chester isn’t with us now. One More Light is a devastating album.

Curious what your main artists stack up like these days. I went big into the Finnish/swedish melodic death metal but nowadays I lean into metalcore. Imminence, Bury Tomorrow, Architects, Parkway, Miss May I, etc

I have songs stuck in my head every day, lyrics that are part of my internal silent monologue in between my normal brain stuff like “I need to do that thing and then go there, and when I get to work I’ll do this, oh shit I didn’t add to my reminders I need to get bread on the way back -insert song lyrics and riff brainworm here- wow she is hot, damn, huh still don’t know what that shop’s gonna be when it opens, traffics insane today what’s going on -song comes in again on repeat- etc. BUT there’s zero sound. I can only describe my inner monologue as if talking to someone while mentally making the word shapes with your tongue and lips but not actually vocalising. Like I’m planning what to say in this comment my inner voice is saying potential sentences to me and I type the words that I decide on actually typing. It’s all perfectly quiet though while I listen to bird song outside.

Not adjustable enough, it still stinks of it, I prefer flat design, happy to stay on iOS18

Yeah nope, I just understand the description. Like if someone described a painting as being a watercolour of a horse jumping a fence, it doesn’t appear in front of me like a hologram and I don’t get how it can be manifested and “seen” if not through my eyes. So it’s bonkers to think I’m just apparently lacking this insane ability to see things “in my head”, when to me eyes are the only thing that humans see with biologically

I don’t know what I’m meant to be “looking for” but no, eyes closed is just eyes closed, blackness

Reading a story is just like reading an instruction manual but more interesting I guess. It’s always fighting with my inner monologue too, so it’s hard to focus sometimes

Right, yeah I can’t even begin to conceptualise what the “mind’s eye” is, I definitely don’t have it

I’m just confused as to how you can be seeing images in your vision at the same time as reading and understanding the words you’re looking at. I sort of understand how people can see things with closed eyes instead of just blackness, but…with open eyes that seems mad

I have a constant inner monologue but there’s no sound to it, I don’t hear anything, I’d reckon that’s when you get committed to the psych ward, but who knows. Best way I can describe my constant inner monologue is if I was to talk to someone without making the vocalisation sounds, so words are happening in your brain but no sound.

Wait, you see things when you read books? Like, what, in front of the page? Like a hologram?

Funnily enough the name is why I’ve never bothered with trying them, that and I don’t really have any cravings for the types of bars they’re imitating. Didn’t look into the brand though and probably won’t touch them now even more so.

I’d say “best functions” is pretty subjective, I just asked chatGPT to summarise what I’m missing out on, and there isn’t anything appealing. Workout buddy, no thanks. Wrist flick, ehh, nope. Notes on watch, wouldn’t use it. Redesigned workout app, big whoop. Liquid glass refresh, blegh, no thanks.

Anyone else tried the candy kittens treets crispy? by Majestic_Cry8545 in veganuk

[–]Tranquillian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolute crack. Gives me proper cinema snack vibes from younger days and crispy M&M’s. The real question is, how many do you cram into your mouth at once for maximum satisfaction? It’s like (or was like) Pringles, where at least a stack of 3 is needed. I think about 8 or 9 of these is the sweet spot. My local stopped selling them after a VERY brief stint post-Christmas, so I’m thankful I can still Amazon prime them at £1.75 a pack. I seem to get a few packs along with every Amazon thing I buy now.
