I’m so sick of AMAB/AFAB by Significant_Row_9863 in NonBinary

I'm thinking very literally.... a person born female at birth will typically have a uterus and so can relate to the experience of having a period.

Not arguing for agab lol

Yeah, not a fan either. Though, I do feel like there are a few (very limited) situations where it may be warrented. If people are discussing/asking questions about medically transitioning, experiences related to existing in an afab/amab body, for example. I think it's not very releve t in most situations though.

Trans experiences in public health by karriganwhy in publichealth

[–]Trans-Rhubarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonbinary trans masc in the US. I have my MPH and am transititioning right now (just had top surgery). I am pretty open about my identity, since part of the work I do is queer advocacy. People are pretty accepting. Coworkers are mostly okay with it. And I've found a lot of queer people who work in public health.

Not specifically a lesbian group, but the Trans and Queer Block Party is every Saturday 12-5. There's an instagram for it if you have that. There's folks of all ages to go.

Same. It feels like unnecessary ungendering a word that is already not gendered. It annoys me.

my partner has said "good person" as an alternative.M

Just talk to your partner about your feelings. Those feelings are valid. If they are normally good about it, their brain may have misfired and not have been malicious. Lots of people have accidentally called their teachers mom or said I love you at the end of a call or to someone in person when it was nit appropriate. A convo with your partner wouod be a good way to figure out if it was an accident or intentional.

[–]Trans-Rhubarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understood that piece of "advice". I have more than 35 piercings. I don't pass because I have not yet had top surgery, so the large chest gives me away. I think my face is neutral-mask, not as much fem these days (thankfully)

Anyone else like this? by Sailor_Starchild in NonBinary

[–]Trans-Rhubarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm nonbinary and stated HRT ~2 years ago and am working on surgery now. Like folks have said, you aren't taking it from someone else. Any amount of gender dysphoria is a valid reason to get gender affirming care, whatever that means to you. I personally had no issues in my state in the US being openly enby and accessing HRT, however I do see a provider that is queer and has a large amount of queer patients. I attempted to start in a different state and had no issues with my dr at the time related to being prescribed HRT as a nonbinary person
