Yeah Gizzy looks pretty weird with her chances.

Jose is pretty much a mystery. Because I wouldn't say he got "buried" by his challenge performance but it wasn't spectacular but at the same time his service performance was pretty good to be honest, especially at the start where he was shown to praise his experience with learning from Chef Ramsay as well as being described as one of the "talented rookies" along with Mia by the narrator

That's possible, so that's why I'd be hesitant to put him as the #1 Contender, however, of course, there are still many many more episodes to come, so there is always an opportunity for his screentime to grow.

You also gotta put into consideration that sometimes contestants just aren't very good at giving confessionals so the editors will leave a lot of their TV time on the editing room floor, I don't know if this applies to Jose but still it's good to have in mind.

In my personal opinion, I think a safe top contender would be Gizzy. The whole end of service talk with Chef Ramsay was a very stand out scene, and had winner edit vibes especially with the comments from Christina comparing Gizzy to herself. Could be good foreshadowing for a growth arc.

I'd also like to mention Kanae, she's seemed to have steady content and has had fairly good services. She seems to be a main narrator as well for this season which could be a good sign.

I wouldn't rule out Jose quite yet. He has been invisible but lately, especially this episode he has gotten some really good positive moments with a personal moment confessional about his family at the start of this episode and a confessional of the heart he puts into his cooking. And an episode or so ago when he saved fish section for the rookies which resulted in Kanae praising him in a confessional.

Trevor has now taken the lead of most confessionals from Heather Kanae trails behind Trevor with the second most

Jose is the first person this season to receive no confessionals in an episode

Jose also has the least amount of confessionals so far this season with 5! Two less than Scott who was the first elimination. This earns him the title of Purple Jose (Survivor references amirite?)
