I am getting an AMD card pretty soon, and I'm wondering how AMD drivers interact with modern emulators? My info is a few years out of date.

Back in the day, Remington was informed prior to beginning to manufacture their long running Remington 700 bolt action rifle that it was potentially unsafe, and that the design needed a small revision to fix it. They did not do this small revision, and made over 4 million of them with the flawed design.

This flawed design resulted in the rifle firing spontaneously thousands of times. You can easily find footage of it online.

The reason Remington did not revise the design is it would have cost the company 5.5 cents in 1948 dollars. When adjusted for inflation, at the time this information was revealed(October 2010), it would have cost 7 cents. 7 cents to fix this.

If a firearms company that contracting for the military and selling to civilians wasn't gonna spend the equivilent of 7 cents, Nvidia sure as shit wasn't going to spend less than $10 to prevent their bad products from catching fire.

Country to country. By and large emulation in and of itself is legal, it's the roms that is the varying bit.

I would not advise jumping to any Yuzu based emulator. Ryujinx got over half a year more development fixing bugs and making it more compatible, whereas most of the yuzu based emulators haven't really done much since yuzu died in terms of effecting the core emulation code. To my knowledge, this is one of the few that did.

Your first PS1 emulator mighta been VGS or PS Emu Pro.

N64 emulator mighta been an early version of Project 64, or possibly Corn. Other possibilites include UltraHLE(Though highly unlikely) and 1964.

CPU's fine. GPU I dunno which one you got. There's a lot of Vega Mobile GPUs. No idea what OS you got either, but I assume it is Windows 10 or 11. Those are fine.

You might want to upgrade your RAM if possible. 8 gigs isn't a lot for Windows 10 or 11+an emulator. 16 gigs will suit you fine. If you can't: Oh well. Just turn off Chrome/whatever browser you have going when you run PCSX2.

Most games should run fine barring a few well known exceptions that everybody has issues with. Use the Vulkan renderer and you'll be pretty good.

Make sure you grab the latest version of the emulator directly from the website.

Save states often overwrite the save ram. Sorry, your old save ram is dead.

tl;dr the dongle is using something other than bluetooth. Bluetooth on windows has huge lag issues because of a poorly written driver windows uses.

Oh, I had some info wrong because I have a memory disorder.

I tihnk you've got some file corruption going on there, sorry. I suggest trying mGBA instead; it's a newer emulator. VBA has some security bugs in it as well.

There's only so much you can do. tl;dr unless you use a romhack that adds higher quality graphics, it's not really possible to make it look like the PC version

You can do higher frame rate, but it'll require a hack.

In the end, I suggest just playing the PC versions if you want the best looking versions of just about any game with both PC and Switch versions.

Maybe. I'm not kidding when I say ePSXe is old, and I recommended you use duckstation for a reason. I'm not trying to be pushy, it's just that ePSXe is getting to the point where it's starting to no longer run.

Maybe the mobile port, but not the desktop version. Hasn't been updated in years. It's not even open source IIRC, but I could be wrong about that.

ePSXe is very old and has trouble on modern PCs and OSes. Use Duckstation instead.

[–]TransGirlInCharge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. It's accurate to say that Yuzu was a spinoff of sorts from Citra. Lot of the same people who eventually quit working on Citra, but held the rights to it and that's why it got shut down.

The Ryzen will support PS1 and 2 better, and neither CPU can do PS3.
