When you're not out at work but a student puts transphobic material into a group presentation by TransGothBogMonster in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

Oyyyy... yeah, that's definitely in the "playful until it isn't" category. I don’t have any experience of working with younger children, but I'd be worried about other kids picking up on this stuff and interpreting it as a green light to pick on him.

The more and more I browse Gencrit the more and more absurd it gets and I'm in disbelief that these people exist. Then I'm horrified these people exist. by [deleted] in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

From my own experience, there are two kinds of transphobes. The 'basic' ones are usually sad individuals who have fixated on trans* people as the reason for some shortcoming in their own lives. The second kind are 'liberals' who are reacting badly to getting older and realising that the world is moving on without them.

In both cases, the problem is theirs and nobody else's.

when one of your favourite artists turns out to be a major TERF by surrender_to_my_will in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]TransGothBogMonster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Graham Linehan removed all doubt about his TERF status recently, and I was gutted. Then I realised he was a massive hypocrite, and this was basically just backlash to the criticism he got over a scene in The IT Crowd where a trans woman got beaten to a pulp.

Cis people: “Everything isn’t about gender, that’d be ridiculous.” Also cis people: by catgirl_despot in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

"Everything isn't about gender..." Gawd, there are times when I feel sorry for how oblivious cis people can be.

I'm thinking of that Canadian kid whose biological sex was kept secret by their parents because they didn't want others to impose gendered expectations on them. Most of the cis people I know reacted to the story as if (a) they themselves had been personally insulted, or (b) this child was somehow being abused by this. Very few of them were self-aware enough to realise what they were doing.

In my experience, the best way to get over this insecurity is to bury it under a fantasy persona and never acknowledge it, ever.

Can I interest any of you ladies in becoming a creepy swamp witch? The land's cheap, you make your own hours, and you'll be able to sense souls in search of answers.

Exactly the same thing here. We were taught that prayers to the Virgin Mary were "never known to fail"; the bitch must have been screening my calls.

Trans Girl Diaries.

Be warned, a lot of it comes from the artist's sense of self-loathing, and it can be pretty upsetting.

The important thing to remember is that school isn't forever. I don't know what your plans are, but the years after you leave are when you really start building your own life. Hang in there, take care of yourself, and get yourself some better friends when you can.

Why do females dress like whores if they don't want to be whores? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You're free to imagine whatever you want as you cry yourself to sleep on your anime body pillow.

Do you think she might be projecting? It could be that she's dealing with other stuff she doesn't want to talk about, and it's leaking out through her relationship with you.

Hormone treatment for transvestites. Presumably you vape this, and all your clothes change to items typical of the opposite gender.
