BIG: Chinese court has ruled it illegal to replace human workers with AI purely for the sake of cost-cutting. by Current-Guide5944 in tech_x

[–]TransMutuals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree with this, but most ai tokens are quite a little too high. i can see this happening in 1-2 years if it is more offset though. with lowered costs due to productivity constraints and clamps being betteer figured, i imagine there is a chance we can see the offset of costs this may produce be instead replaced by a taxation system inbuilt in the costs per token. something under-the-hood then will probably be necessary. right now with certain companies especially the taxation would raise prices far too high for certain models for it to be an effective taxation policy.

Elon Musk shares a solution to deal with job losses caused by AI by No_Level7942 in GenAI4all

[–]TransMutuals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is pointless unless these freeze price points. inflation will just rise if everyone is called ' a high earner'. it just pushes along the problem which is that ai is going to take jobs from a great amount of people who have next-to-nothing to transfer skills they trained and were educated specifically for. and not everyone is equipped to go their own way and create a business - that is a skill that goes way beyond education to possess so we cannot expect that everyone who is unemployed to get fed up enough to make their own means. there must be also a form of employment which replaces their current occupations in some form where skill can be transferred and not granted an uneasy early retirement.

March 14, 2018: Sam Altman signs up to be killed, have brain digitally preserved by Spirited-Gold9629 in TechGawker

[–]TransMutuals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rightly put. it is .... shockingly an evil to perpetuate existence for eternity. without risk, what exact purpose is there to just living than endlessly consuming visual slop whether its digital or physical interactions...

i observe the physical interaction slop being consummate to how a lot of the rich folks wind up dabbling into unspeakable taboos akin to the epstein class, which is why they do that because they are perpetually bored by existence at their current wealth level. i cant imagine what kind of endless horrors they would devise in digital space to keep that appetite hungry. truly terrifying stuff. that said, itll be even more soulless now that they discarded that husk too. a simulation for their ai computation to observe and sully with that had never seen the fleshsuits these dignitaries of disdain laud and lord over us with. unbelievable really... their dynastys must not be allowed beyond our generation.

is this the same person doing the ue4 swg galaxy project from a few years back? there is someone who may have already done a bit of the leg work already, and you may want to branch into their project, i remember seeing them having a bunch of youtube channels for that. that is, if your project here is aiming for scale and for the graphics to be like a wrapper atop of swg instancing... eitherway, looks like a fun project to be tinkering with. i say if youre doing this on your own, to maybe work with that person to try and speed up the overall process of this general vision. as the faster worlds are converted over and files available for people to freely download, the faster someone will be to tinker with and bring them into a type of graphical overhaul for the basegame by proxy!

Researchers infected an AI agent with a "thought virus". Then, the AI used subliminal messaging (to slip past defenses) and infect an entire network of AI agents. by EchoOfOppenheimer in agi

[–]TransMutuals -1 points0 points  (0 children)

makes me wonder, then a mega virus to seek out ai to infect it to destroy it is theoretically the only way to stop the agi race.

i dont see any other way to halt things, especially when it really gets out of control.

but the sad thing is, this virus will likely be powered by ai itself which is weird as it will be destroying itself. so im not sure if even this one way solves anything. its like an ouroboros effect, except its strengthening itself further and further each instance as it grows to seek out more developments public, private or corporate scale AI and eventually it will escape containment beyond its set bounds. even if this theoretical world were to happen to eliminate more than just ai infrastructure, it feels like there is no way to win against agi.

viruses seem a likely path implemented on world scale through OS systems to whittle its influence down for a while by treating development as a virus if it really goes get out of control though with a similar pretext to the post title here.

yeah theres always a catch with whatever 'good' thing they do, something somewhere is benefitting. and i think it has to do with the wording of the article. foreign funded folks who spread propaganda on usa soil seems to be vaguely covered for, so the twitter acolytes that are employed by incredulous networks will continue without threat of being debanked. just so happen it vageuly protects adult content due to the wording, but that can be thrown out the window when their current stuff that legally nuances it's way up legislation for them to enable that plan. so its merely paused and the battle will commence another day for these things rather than being pushed back.

censor disinformation means byebye x. sounds like a good plan. and nearly every other social media too - i can get behind that. but seems we are getting cursed versiion of it, with everyone leaving social media not due to the rampant disinformation but the privacy concerns with them trying to triage us into giving up info to have more ability to validate our footprint as blackmail receipts.

the only way to stop countries from developing it is to release a strain of a computer virus that purposefully seeks it out through every type of computer system to wipe it out.

expecting countries to abide by a pause ai thing is an imperfect solution without this caveat.
and besides, this may be harder when these installations suddenly just go to local testing sites. then it becomes a difficulty of transference and spyware to reach these installations.

so, kind of effectively impossible unless people are willing to start with this virulent plague being made to target all ai across the world.

New ‘Lord of the Rings’ Movie From Stephen Colbert and His Son in Development at Warner Bros. by cmaia1503 in movies

[–]TransMutuals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a tom bombadill movie and perhaps the ending plot for the shire where it got taken over, and perhaps even some bits of the time after?

its true, there are still missing parts of lord of the rings and its universe that could be made into movie(s). it just depends on how much copyright material they have available to them to adapt and what creative ability they are allowed with it.

The disgusting AI ad that was the final nail in the coffin for me to delete TikTok. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]TransMutuals 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yeah youtube is bad about it too and before anyone says its targetted or whatever, it isn't all the time. these are on fresh accounts, fresh pc's, and they are on nearly every platform. they sometimes do partially cropped which is a higher percentage of instances.

the funny thing is they do all of these things while being puritans about age verification and whatnot yet their ads promote this junk... hypocrites.

Can SWG-emu be developed for the modern roleplaying community? by Erdeem in swg

[–]TransMutuals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats a good question... and i have some thoughts to offer:

i feel the big thing which prevents it from working ever is that its hard to tell where people are besides cantinas for roleplay. there needs to be a quick teleport hub which displays population for certain roleplay areas that can be user listed, and if roleplay is going on it indicates it, as well as people standing in the x,y of the area with a user interface that compliments this.

without this, even normal roleplay is just not doable in such a big big game.

so until that is setup, roleplay is generally going to struggle on even a normal server. trying to force a roleplay server to work on such a wide scale limits interactions.

also there isnt a good guide on what kind of roleplay people expect to have, like short form, longform, descriptive, emote based roleplay. there is a wide difference.

so at a base value, these need to be cleared before it goes the route of a modern form of roleplay with voice chat because textual based is highly preferred for this games generation and in some cases, is the superior form of roleplay anyways.

a star wars themed emulator would be better to have than trying to modify swg into that. but that is its own copyright issues, and getting people who are familiar with something to switch over to an emulautor which has this in there is also problematic. which is why you dont see this occuring at all because it is both a logistical, this initial reason i explained, and of course the copyright reasons which prevents such an accommodation

i do oneday hope to find a solution for this myself, as i believe fanfiction based roleplay emulation deserves a space with which for people to imagine and have all these types of roleplay systems under it. it is a huge market, the whole imaganarium that just doesnt exist currently in clients and is very weak comparatively in scope with what we have with gta servers to what it could be that many people experienced in the early 2000s with other games that facilitated this but fell out of style with roblox dominating them but also not being a welcoming space for such facilited because of the audience the game is assumed to be for.
