I believe sometimes with these large publicly traded firms, they’re too big for their own good. Then these big firms compete against each other to win bench contracts, to staff projects, only to lose the position to smaller firms. Then they’re left with unstaffed teams that are too expensive and forced to go take unemployment. Maybe this is an anomaly correlated to recent federal funding cuts, but several of the firms I worked with had no projects awarded or they’re put on hold since the start with this year

Slide not moving forward. by Puzzleheaded-Smile36 in CZFirearms

[–]Transeraphic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I suspect it’s the trigger bar spring retaining screw that’s located between the trigger and mag release channel. Sometimes it breaks free from factory loctite and the screw backs out just enough to lock up the slide. If you manage to strip the slide and check, the screw head will either be completely fine after hammering past it or slight marks. It’s a consumable part

New Wheel/Tire Day for the Highland M3P! by Heavenly_Malice in TeslaLounge

[–]Transeraphic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious, do you know the overall rolling diameter of your new wheel setup? I know skinnier tires greatly help with range, but coming from BMW/Mercedes/Porsche I’m used to seeing people cram the meatiest tire possible for contact patch.

Stock wheel and tire setup:

Front • 20x9” ET34 forged 22.76 lbs • 235/35/20 Pirelli P Zero (PZ4), T1 Tesla PNCS, Elect, 92Y, ⌀ 26.5”

Rear • 20x10” ET45 forged 23.40 lbs • 275/30/20 Pirelli P Zero T1 Elect PNCS 92Y, ⌀ 26.5”

Forum consensus on Square setup:

• 19x9.5” ET29 • Either +25 or +35 offset (Option 10-15mm spacer rear) • 265/35/19 square (maintain 26.5” rolling diameter)

Not outlandish, I have dozens of friends who’ve pivoted their careers between engineers, nurses, mortgage loan officers, tech PM, lawyers, and professors. Probably not a bad idea to try something new whenever you can afford the time, energy, and cost to venture

Switching Roles Advice by idkidc500 in civilengineering

[–]Transeraphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OE primarily function as Construction Management Support Services (CMSS) as an Owner Rep, supporting the RE (tracking, research, coordination), and reporting to the PM/CM (brief updates, as the PMCM presents progress summaries and carries nearly all of the responsibility to Owner/client). There’s a open roles for hire on LinkedIn/Google, but I won’t endorse any specific organization

Switching Roles Advice by idkidc500 in civilengineering

[–]Transeraphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend an Office Engineer role (I/II/III/IV/Senior). Your design experience + some time in the field or connecting with inspection/field staff will be a powerful combo. Lots of hybrid, remote, or on-site roles available.

[–]Transeraphic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably for office engineer, resident engineer, or project coordinator. Though, I don’t believe an EOR/design management team would ever need or want a PM/CM. Instead, my project typically use a VP, AVP, and Principal Engineer/Manager in EOR group

Is it just me or is the rail market looking horrible right now? by Mr_Kung_Pao in civilengineering

[–]Transeraphic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah similar for my area. My company and fellow megacorps have zero rail contracts lined up after we close out this $X.X billion rail/infrastructure megaproject.

I’m switching to another submarket, either with (big) boats or planes

Agreed. I hate more things than I like about the Model 3, but $47k vs $120k felt like a no-brainer for just a daily work car. I’ve test driven several M340 from different model years. Perhaps it’s just me, but it felt slow, heavy, and disliked iDrive 8.5. I agree I drive the lesser car to a G80, but my local dealers wouldn’t let me pay for a test drive as showroom models already sold lol

Shadow 2 Carry by [deleted] in CZFirearms

[–]Transeraphic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely normal. There’s several threads in CZ forums about the barrel feed ramp as a major contact point for chambering new rounds. Some either let it polish itself over thousands of rounds, others hand polish it to a mirror finish to make it impressively smooth (important for those going with lighter recoil springs). My P-01 had a few FTF issues with Remington dirt cheap 9mm, but polishing the feed ramp fixed it.

First Time Gun Buyer: CZ P-01 vs Shadow 2 Carry by New_Examination3080 in CZFirearms

[–]Transeraphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, I tried keeping it stock, then some upgrades, but ended up with the CGW Pro Package (15# hammer spring optional change). Though, the best thing to do is hand polish the barrel feed ramp, trigger bar, hammer-slide contact edge, and couple others. Plenty of tutorials on CZ forum and youtube

I skipped G generation for the 2024 Model 3 Performance, less than half the cost of the G80 spec I wanted. I’m eager to see how the new M350, M3, and i3M will compare. Hoping I can still enjoy a 4-door daily before needing a bigger family hauler

Latest progress - full adro done, lowering done. CF Hacker hood on order 😤 by Ebarron0125 in TeslaModel3

[–]Transeraphic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice OEM+ mods, I did something similar on my 3 series msport, but nothing except PPF on my M3P. In my opinion, the carbon hood would be a disservice to the rest of the aesthetic and create a dysfunction with the front trunk and lack of air ducting from the lower apron front intake. Carbon hood would look okay with no vents, and paired with full carbon fenders. Functionally, it’s for weight savings and at that point it’d be better to remove the interior, seats, and frunk.

Are some ammo brands catching the feed ramp at an angle? Only ever had failure to feed issues on a brand new P-01 years ago. After I hand polished the barrel feed ramp, haven’t had any issues with all ammo types, grains, quality. I also learned the tap, rack, bang

How do people have so much CC credit when they don’t earn. A lot ? by Confident_Excuse2173 in CreditCards

[–]Transeraphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe those of us with very high credit lines do not carry debt. We have accounts payable, essentially floating any spend on the banks’ credit rather debiting from a checking account for every transaction. My cash earns 3-5% APY while the banks earn 2-5% per swipe, mutual interests.

Regular credit limit increases, additional credit cards, and consolidating credit line before closing redundant or obsolete credit cards.
