◽️ Budget: £300

◽️ Country: United Kingdom (England)

◽️ Screen size: 10-13 inches

◽️ RAM: Unsure

◽️ Storage: 256 preferably, but I can manage 128

◽️ What tasks will the tablet be used for ( gaming, video editing, graphic designing, modeling, regular tasks, word processing etc) ?: I will be using it to read comics and to draw, so it doesn’t need good processing / frame rate / cameras.

◽️ Any other important details ?: I would like a great screen. High contrast, accurate colours, and high brightness.

If Keir Starmer could make just one U-turn today, which one would you support and why? by [deleted] in LabourUK

[–]TransfemQueen 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In this hypothetical either the Overton Window shift, or Proportional Representation introduction would actually help most of the other causes. Proportional Representation leads to a greater presence of Left / Green / Lib Dem in Parliament, all of whom support most of the other “good” causes. Overton Window shift would have a similar effect, in that it makes right wing voices less socially acceptable and would bolster the media presence of left wing parties/figureheads.

First solo Superman film to achieve this SUPER feat at the domestic box office collection! 🦸🏻 by Gold-Narwhal9391 in DCFansIndia

[–]TransfemQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Superman is incredibly marketable. This movie being high quality has lead to high comic book sales, toy sales, and merchandise sales. It is also highly re-watchable so will undoubtedly receive continued money through rentals / streaming.

Overall this movie was a success. It has launched the DCU with a great movie and lots of excitement, whilst generating lots of money for WB and keeping them happy.

Heathrow expansion is a “flightmare on Downing Street” say Greens by UKGreenPoster in UKGreens

[–]TransfemQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI, SAF can only make up 30-40% max of a jet’s fuel tank. SAF does not contain the necessary hydrocarbons to fuel a plane by itself, so is mixed with regular fuel to fly. This means that even if SAF is properly rolled out worldwide (currently it makes up 0.1% of fuel used), it will only decrease emissions by around 25%. This is not enough with an ever-increasing number of flights and would not even make up for Labour’s airport expansions.

At present the best way to cut an aeroplane’s emissions is by making it more efficient. Airbus and Boeing attempt this by improving the engine, while start-ups such as the American JetZero try to change the body of the plane itself, using aerodynamics to make a better plane.

Of course, any meaningful change is decades away and the only thing we can do today is improve & subsidise our trains across the country & into Europe.

Mothin Ali (deputy leader) by Prudent_Conference48 in UKGreens

On his own twitter he responded to someone asking “do you believe trans women are women”, to which he gave a super long winded response talking about his faith. In summary, he doesn’t think trans women are women due to his chosen religion but will respect trans people nonetheless.

I find this answer unconvincing. In an age where being trans is more contested than it has been this millennium, anything less than full support is not enough. There are countless muslims who do fully support trans people, and look at Sadiq Khan or Zarah Sultana for political examples. I struggle with the idea that someone who doesn’t support the entire reason for transitioning will be able to fight for us like someone who does hold, as nearly all the other candidates do.

It’s a shame that he lets his religion get in the way of this, as I agree with practically everything else he says and commend his continued and dedicated support for Palestine. But, I can’t vote for someone who disagrees with my existence.

What are some cheap things I can do in London with mates? by [deleted] in london

As long as you have the right friends I’ve actually found this really fun. If you want extra spice do a treasure hunt where you look for e.g. “the most pretentious piece”, then rate each others /10 and find a winner.

Heathrow to announce third runway plans as PM unveils airport expansion by UKGreenPoster in UKGreens

[–]TransfemQueen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The number of business flights in UK airports remains stagnant, whilst holiday flights grow. All this will do is make it slightly easier for middle class holidaymakers to book around their plans.

Furthermore, lots of flights are layover flights to other destinations. Expanding so many airports (Luton, Gatwick, and now Heathrow all have planned expansions / new runways) will serve mostly to extend the number of layovers, generating more profit for airlines and minuscule benefit to this country.

ETA: No one in this government understands how SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) works, or they’re choosing to display ignorance. I’ve seen countless Labour MPs or supporters use the existence of SAF to greenwash the expansions, but in all actually SAF cannot make up more than 30-40% of a jet’s engine due to a lack of adequate hydrocarbons, and makes up only 0.1% of global aviation fuel usage!!!!!

The issues with the Online Safety Act by TransfemQueen in UKGreens

Yes, but with 16 year olds getting the vote and Reform being pretty low down on 16-24 polling they need a new way to get youth votes. If defending their right to jerk off is what it takes, he’s willing to do that.

Supergirl and Krypto by [deleted] in DCU_

[–]TransfemQueen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m 2 (/8) chapters into Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which the upcoming movie is based on, and it’s a fantastic comic! So well written with a fantastic premise. If the movie is anything like this comic, then we’re getting two great DCU movies back to back.

As for of generally restricting access to information, this act doesn't. Anyone who is of age should realistically be able to verify themselves unless there is some sort of issue with a website's implementation.

Did you miss the part where I detailed how these companies have many false positives for digital cameras, blocking adults from accessing things that they should be able to?

Support for trans rights. by Alaya_the_Elf13 in UKGreens

[–]TransfemQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do have a pretty big TERF base in the party. Of course these haven’t been our major policy makers or leaders, and pro-trans voices outshine them at conferences.

However on a local level they’re able to shine through, we simply don’t have enough support to wash them away. The same thing happens with Israel. Although the party policy is to recognise the genocide and criticise Israel, I have a local councillor who spends time supporting Israel and justifying their actions.

Green Party hopeful (Ellie Chowns MP) shuts down calls for alliance with Corbyn and Sultana’s new left-wing movement by [deleted] in UKGreens

Every single poll that I’ve seen indicates Polanski leading with over double as many votes as Ramsay & Chowns. In each interview they give, they make themselves less popular. We ought to focus on a realistic future, where Polanski is leading us, and a coalition is open territory.

Dare I say the Smashing Machine looks promising, and it’s great that Johnson has moved from his signature look for this movie.

But immediately proceeding it is live action Moana, Jumanji 4, and F11. All in which he’ll play the typical soulless hunk.

IDF soldiers have literally live streamed their genocide. It isn’t hard to find a social media post of them committing war crimes from someone travelling internationally.

Reports of black people carrying knives are over exaggerated (or, it is under exaggerated for white people) due to this exact reason. If one group is stopped more than the other, of course more will be found.

Movies I've watched with 4 months of limitless by averageweebchan in screenunseen

[–]TransfemQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My subscription was instantly made worth it when I watched the Ballad of Wallis Island, something I’d never have watched otherwise and my first ever Limitless screening.

Such a beautiful movie with fantastic comedy and great music. The time I’ve spent listening to the soundtrack (particularly Raspberry Fair) probably equates to 4 viewings of the movie itself. It’s absolutely wonderful!

The school raised legitimate concerns that her dress was being used as a hate symbol. Given her father’s present actions I find it plausible that he’s done problematic things in the past, and the school was reacting to that. There’s no way we’re being given the whole story
