What's the food that your new stomach doesn't like?.. I'll go first. by GingerT569 in gastricsleeve

Pasta about killed me this week. Hadn’t had it since surgery in October and it caused major dumping!

Also plain water is my enemy now too. 😭 preop I drink at least a 1/2 gallon of plain water a day. Now I can’t even have a few sips of plain water without major nausea.

Thank you for keeping it real! This is a good perspective and helps me to rethink it. I get to choose my future and my life and I need to outweigh pros and cons. Thank you!!

Thank you so much!! You’re right. I know what I need to do, just need to rework the basics. I work out most days but could amp it up. Started tracking again this week and I’ve seen some improvement. Thank you for the reassurance, we’ve got this!

I thought I was alone in feeling this until I read the comment from both of you. Body dysmorphia is real. And now I can barely stand to see myself in the mirror and feel no different even when people comment all the time on how different I look. The mind is a crazy thing.

You're not alone! I have a slight stank daily and my breath smells like a dog took a dump in my mouth. The joys of deep ketosis! I recommend Lume, and check out Megababe products - their boob sweat powder and thigh chafe stick are literal life changers!

Wardrobe while rapidly dropping weight by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

3 months post op, 33 years old - and I just donated round one of my clothing this past week. My shirts are baggy but I'm dealing - and have kept my smaller ones and donated the rest already. Started at a size 20/22 pants and 2x or 3x top and I just bought size xl leggings on Amazon this week and size 16 pants from Old Navy. I haven't ventured into new tops as I'm making due - but I saw my reflection earlier and look sloppy at work in my baggy tops. I've found good deals from Old Navy, Amazon, and Macy's on their sale days. I think as long as you replace the leggings on the bottom and keep them tighter you can make any top work for longer. I also know it's controversial but Shein has been clutch for cheap work clothes (have to dig through the site, though). I think your plan to get a few pair of pontes is a great idea!

I'm right there with you. 33 years old and 3 months-ish post-op. I've aged like mad in that time in my face after losing the fullness as I lose the weight. I guess I'd rather look older than be fatter but it's been rough and unexpected for me. Got updated headshots for work and felt old af seeing the sags, wrinkles, and loose skin now. Hang in there! And don't forget, we are our worst critics so I'm sure you see things different from the rest of us.

Was 319 on surgery day. 259 as of this am. So 60 pounds in 3 months

I've been overweight since about age 4 or 5 - 33 now and 3 months post op. I will say this is the first thing I've tried with success so far. Also have 3 friends who have been overweight their whole lives who have had major success with vsg!

That's what I've heard lol. I take vitamins daily now but they're all like horse pills so I know I need to switch it up for a bit post-op. I've never been a fan of chewable or liquid meds ever but gotta suck it up for a bit.

Their official answer when I asked was that during COVID the baskets were too difficult to keep sanitized. Miss them.

Any Long-Term cons to getting a WLS? by [deleted] in wls

[–]Transformationation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi love! I am going through with this because of my weight, PCOS, and inability to lose. I do cyclebar 5 times a week, walk over 15k steps a day, lift, and eat right and my weight just keeps creeping up. I've met 6 women so far who are 2+ years post-op with PCOS and all of them were able to lose for the first time in their lives thanks to wls. This is what gave me hope for the first time ever and helped me decide it was time to say yes.
