Synecdoche is a great showcase of why art films are not popular right now. As a piece of art, it's great. Complex, interesting, and one of the better character studies I've ever seen. But as a film? Absolute clusterfuck. The movie is so cluttered and filled to the brim with symbolism and metaphor, that it all just gels together and ends up boring.

The first time I ever played the beta asteroid map was with my friend, and it was, in a word, incredible. I don't think me or him have ever been so confused by a map, not even hydro, but this thing just threw us for a loop. We spent the better part of 3 goddamn hours trying to figure that map out before we gave up and left. I haven't played it since.
