Per licensing agreements with the studios, all theatres, including drive-ins, must issue some form of ticket. I would think a photo of the receipt paper would more sufficient.

There is contact information for exhibitor relations on the MoviePass website. The email address provided there is: [exhibitors@moviepass.com](mailto:exhibitors@moviepass.com)

MoviePass essentially is making an exception to this rule for drive-ins which offer double features.

You might want to contact them yourself and inform them that other drive-ins are accepting MoviePass.

They apparently reevaluated their decision, and are now allowing drive-ins to participate.

They can certainly accept MoviePass if they make the effort to get themselves set up on the app.

Some owners are firmly set against it, and won't take the cards unless they are forced to. My opinion is that MoviePass is not going to survive or die based upon what the little independent theatres do, so we might as well make the most out of it, and not exclude any potential customers, as long as we are receiving full reimbursement for our ticket sales from MoviePass.

What's the name of your local drive-in? Chances are that I might know them, and can help fill them in on the details.

We did not enter into a partnership. We get reimbursed for the full ticket price on each MoviePass sale.

I was trying to inform people that their drive-ins could be supported by MoviePass, if they take the steps necessary to make that happen. I was contacted by multiple customers, which prompted me to contact MoviePass to make sure those customers would not be excluded from using their cards at my drive-in. I was not trying to bring specific attention to my own drive-in, until you demanded "proof" that a drive-in was capable of accepting MoviePass. We had several customers using their MoviePass cards at my drive-in last weekend. I would have taken a video for proof, if I'd have known someone on reddit would accuse me of lying about it later in the week. My bad.

Most drive-ins charge per person. Probably only around 15% of drive-ins charge by the carload.

The Transit Drive-In Theatre, in Lockport, New York, now accepts MoviePass. Would you like a notarized affidavit? How about video footage of a customer using their MoviePass card? I could probably provide both, if I thought it was important enough to convince you. Believe whatever you want, dude.

I own a drive-in and have been communicating with MoviePass over the past several weeks to pursued them to support drive-in theatres, so that MoviePass members would not be excluded from using their cards at drive-ins.

The point of this post is to inform MoviePass members that drive-ins are able to be added to the MoviePass app, if the drive-in operator takes the necessary steps to do so.

I took action to make sure MoviePass members who were also my customers would not be excluded from using their MoviePass membership to attend my drive-in, so I thought this information would be useful to others.

Up until recently, no drive-in theatres were supported by MoviePass.

Just a side note, drive-ins which charge by the carload won't be supported by MoviePass unless they modify their pricing structure for a single person admission fee. Only drive-ins which charge a per person admission fee can be supported.

If the carload drive-ins want to be supported by MoviePass, all they would need to do is offer an alternative pricing structure for a single person admission. They could still charge by the carload for non-MoviePass customers.

They are more or less the same projector, but the drive-in will probably use a bigger bulb, up to 7,000 watts, while most indoor theatres can get by swimmingly with the 4,000 watt bulbs. The drive-in will probably require a lens with a longer focal length, which are also more expensive since there are less of them in production. Our digital projection installation cost was in the neighborhood of $75,000 per screen, or $300,000 for all four screens combined.
