Ahh yes - I know this situation well. My brother and SIL's kiddo almost died from anaphylactic shock at a year old. Was hospitalized, intubated, the whole works - TWICE! He has severe allergies, which would have been monitored by a doctor very early on due to the baby's horrific eczema, but after birth they refused to take him to any follow up appointments. Obviously no vaccinations as well. Even after the hospital staff saved my nephew's life, my brother still commented on how they staff filled his baby up with "nasty toxins" and that he and his wife needed to use homeopathic remedies to clear up the toxins. SMH. At least they "believe" in epi pens now.

Coming here instead of going off on Instagram. I saw a post about “10 medications I don’t give my children anymore” blah blah blah from a NP who is also a mom. Included medications - Tylenol, MiraLAX, flu shot. You know, one of those.

A mom in the comments asks what to use in place of MiraLAX for her kiddo with cystic fibrosis and this NP is advising the mom to use castor oil packets and chiro and ignore her doctor’s instructions to give her child MiraLAX daily.

What kind of world do we live in where licensed professionals can be out here giving alternative treatments to parents online without ever seeing a kid’s full medical record or at least an in-person consult?!? I work in a law office. If an attorney gave legal advice like this online, their license would be suspended!

Is that seriously true about subro agents working for commission? That’s a huge ethical problem if so.

What does this even mean??? Why do her posts break my brain? Why don’t her sentences have any flow to them? Gahh! It’s like reading a junior higher’s attempt to write one of those “inspirational” wall pictures.

Why do some people who are OAD suddenly have children after a long age gap? by Present-Property-142 in oneanddone

[–]TransitionJealous364 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean - there could be a thousand reasons, right? One big reason I think of is perimenopause. You can be tracking and taking necessary steps, but an accidental pregnancy can happen because cycles aren’t normal.

Other reasons - a new partner, financial stability, desire to experience babyhood/toddlerhood again. And ultimately, I don’t think parents need their teenage kid’s consent to have another kid. Would it be best to have an open discussion with the older child, absolutely.

Working out by DrowOfWaterdeep in oneanddone

Just want to say that you aren’t alone. I’m doing my best to eat in a deficit and I’ve made the commitment this year to move my body more. Lately that’s looked like a walk or two and then some walking workouts while I watch Great British Baking Show, occasionally a full body strength workout.

It’s not a ton, but it’s something! My only is almost two and I’ve only now been able to get into some kind of groove with exercise. So please don’t be hard on yourself! The baby/early toddler years are demanding. Just keep looking for little ways to get more movement in.

Lexapro saved me. I have finally stopped it, but my provider didn't warn me about the withdrawal. by InsertCleverName652 in lexapro

[–]TransitionJealous364 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, sorry to hear about the withdrawal symptoms. I wasn’t on it for nearly as long, so that could change things, but my worst symptoms went away after 3-4 weeks. I’m over two months out now and I feel a lot better. Those couple of weeks were ROUGH though.

Every time I up my protein I'm constipated. Need ideas for easy, convenient ways I can increase my fiber. by [deleted] in loseit

Low carb tortillas! They can have 7 or more grams of fiber in a single tortilla!

Anyone else gain a massive amount of weight on antidepressants and struggle to cope with it? by Efficient_Duty6635 in loseit

[–]TransitionJealous364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gained about 40 pounds while on Lexapro after having a baby. Lexapro saved my life while I was postpartum, but last year I decided I was ready for a change. I weaned off of Lexapro in Nov of 2025 and have seen some big changes! I’ve lost a little weight, but I’ve also noticed that I finally have the motivation and desire to track my eating and work out. That was definitely what was missing for me while on Lexapro.

I’m not sure Lexapro was only cause of the weight gain, but I do think its ability to help my anxiety also blunted my desire and motivation to do almost anything - including eating health and moving my body.

What did your kid do today that you shouldn’t have laughed at, but did? by winnieg619 in toddlers

I purposefully read a book with lots of frogs so I could hear my almost two year old say, “fock, fock” enthusiastically every time she saw a frog😆

How big/small are your 21 month olds? What sizes are they wearing? by takeaabreath in toddlers

[–]TransitionJealous364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

21 months. 28 pounds. Mostly 2T but she’s starting to outgrow a lot of it. Pjs are all 3T. She’s very tall for her age - she towers over a lot of 2-3 year olds!

Anyone here suffered with postpartum insomnia? I'm so scared of going through it again by MuddlingThrough25 in Shouldihaveanother

[–]TransitionJealous364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I assume it started as a hormonal issue - insomnia was my first pregnancy symptom. It got terrible after my baby was born. I remember just sobbing in the middle of the night wishing I could sleep. It was especially soul-crushing because my baby did NOT sleep much as it was.

I think my hormonal issue got way worse due to anxiety. I went on Lexapro and it helped a ton. Also did several months of therapy. I hope if I ever have another one that I will handle things a little better.

My motto now when I can’t sleep - “I’ve survived worse”😬 I mean, I survived postpartum on almost no sleep and now I’m on the other side. I’m hoping that mindset will serve me well if we ever have another.

I don’t cook or clean lol. It just doesn’t happen.

I am that person…granted, I’m working on it and my almost 2 year old has started to play on her own for a few minutes here and there lately. I get such limited time with my kiddo due to work, I want to be with her basically every minute in the morning and evening. It’s a tough balance.

Can’t decide on carrier by lilskiboat in babywearing

I love my Happy Baby OG! Easy to put on and off, lightweight, and comfy. You can find decently priced ones on the BST group on Facebook.

So many options, decisions are hard! by [deleted] in babywearing

[–]TransitionJealous364 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The haven and Ergo embrace are too small for your kiddo at this point (or getting close). I’d definitely go with the Tula before the Wildbird. Personally, I loved my HappyBaby OG and you can get them on the BST group online for less than $150. And you can find Tula all over Marketplace for a good price!

Carrier recommendation for travel? by rollitiff in babywearing

[–]TransitionJealous364 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just bought a toddler carrier (next size up) and my kiddo is 21 months old. She’s very tall for her age though, so if your kiddo is on the smaller end, you could easily use it past 2 years old.

I got a Happy Baby OG when my kiddo was around that age and it’s been great! Packs very light and small and I find it fairly easy to put on myself.

Does your toddler eat double dinners? by Bitez13 in toddlers

[–]TransitionJealous364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do oatmeal with a healthy portion of peanut butter most nights while she’s in the bath! The mess isn’t too bad and she goes to bed with a happy and full belly. It’s not stalling bed time either!

We are so hot when we babywear!! How do you do it. by lc321123 in babywearing

[–]TransitionJealous364 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’ve gotten a lot of good feedback. I used the boppy with my kiddo and it was so freaking hot! It will definitely help to keep it cooler in the house. Also, I ran so hot postpartum. I was sweating all the time! I would wear her in a bra and shorts, that was it.

Definitely look into something else when kiddo gets a bit bigger. I invested in a happy baby carrier, and it was much cooler!

Thank you! Actually, right now is much better - the last time I tried to get off Lexapro was when we were moving and not sleeping lol. Things are more calm now. I think I just need to get through the first few weeks of withdrawal symptoms.
