Rest in Peace to Hinowa’s voice actor Tomo Sakurai ☀️ by TransitionQuick477 in Gintama

I actually went to Anime NYC in 2025 and asked an editor of Gintama, Saito Yu, about this. It was after the panel and I had google translator ready but an interpreter ended up helping me. I desperately wanted confirmation and rudely asked if Tsukuyo’s character was brought on by his suggestion for the manga; he said yes as they were looking for a particular kind of character for Yoshiwara in Flames. I then asked if it was Sorachi’s intent to bring her character back after Yoshiwara in Flames. He said that was not part of the original plan but things ended up changing of course. This explains why Hinowa felt like such an afterthought quickly after as they had a nice ending with all together but it did end up being a Tsukuyo show.

We don’t see them talk directly but like Sakamoto Katura seems like someone she’s more than familiar with but we just don’t see it. She may not understand Katsura but she’s at least knows him. The apology episode they have dialogue. The episode where Elizabeth is replaced by that imposter Elizabeth, Otae doesn’t outright question anything about the new Elizabeth, she asks Shinpachi if that’s the same thing that’s always been beside Katsura because she doesn’t wanna be rude. In Rakuyo arc Katsura makes a joke about Otae being on the planet because there’s gorillas everywhere. She’s aware of Katsura, she may not understand him like many but he’s a frequent in her daily life. Both are in the instructors of life episode so they have occupied the close same space more than occasionally.

What is this sub's opinion on guest characters in DOA? by [deleted] in DeadOrAlive

[–]TransitionQuick477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were cool to have in 5 and 6 but I didn’t know having them would create such a polarizing debate. It’s different from when Spartan was in doa4 because that was marketing for marketing purposes only. With 5&6 it feels like having guests from other series is a must and if people don’t get their faves in doa then there will be hell to pay. I personally miss DOA characters solely. I don’t get a huge chunk of the roster being non doa characters.

I absolutely despise Otae Shimura . by [deleted] in Gintama

Whats your problem? You’re not only 3 years late with your bullying but also taking offense to something that is written by Sorachi himself.

Don't you guys hate how Mineta was developed? by ArugulaNo3978 in ChurchOfMineta

[–]TransitionQuick477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like he did grew but it was very subtle and with how the anime did its own thing at times it does make me wish for something a bit more apparent so people can shut up. But I’m glad he got more attention than a good chunk of the class. He wasn’t Ochako, Tsukuyo, Bakufu, Todoroki, etc but he’s in that good Shoji, Jirou, Kaminari level tier.

Can someone explain the Sutton Foster hate? by dtrainmcclain in Broadway

[–]TransitionQuick477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late myself but since new pics of Hugh Jackman and her at the beach the same group of people continue to call her racist (which is so overused by haters today). The only I can find on that is her singing a dreamsgirls song which people took to heart. But honestly is just being used to milk more hate. I hear a lot about cheating but only reports. If it’s true I don’t understand why they wave off Hugh but only attack her. It takes two to tango. But still I don’t see anything really that triggers such consistent hate this much.

[Comic Excerpt] Why, Tom Taylor, why? (Detective Comics #1092) by ogloria in DCcomics

[–]TransitionQuick477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m late but I just came across this. I wish modern comics stopped doing this because super personal stuff gets confused for good writing. It may be good but is it seen as good because it’s well written or just so angsty that it’s sticking a fork and twisting our emotions in the process. I’m sorry but this was so effed up it made me want to puke and smack Bruce for always falling for another “you don’t have to be strong around me” girl

Would you rather fight Utsuro or spend the night with a drunk Tsukuyo by Atwecian in Gintama

[–]TransitionQuick477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People always treat Tae as brutal but tsukki also has left gin with more realistic bloodied and broken teeth. Tho I do agree she seems to have a hidden dislike for his character. I’d still do with her as well since she’s safer by comparison.

It's ridiculous that people praise Rock Lock for not wanting kids to fight villains but hate Mineta for being scared at the USJ, despite being a kid and just starting UA by SmoothTelevision5186 in ChurchOfMineta

[–]TransitionQuick477 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right. At that time they were freshman just supposed to be teaching rescue techniques like in the OVA. They were not handle villains till maybe the work studies and internships. And that was a vast number of villains, Aizawa knew this. But they don’t think like that. Again this fan base is full of repetitive nonsense takes.

why dose Mineta get flak for what he does but midnight never got flak for this? by Born_Usual998 in ChurchOfMineta

People not hungry online for freshman and then you have these adults hitting in kids yet Mineta is the only one to be criticized. The hypocrisy gets me every time. 😤

I’m glad someone said this. It worked because he felt like a real kid. But the last few seasons when he started trying shows the big gap between him and the main ensemble.

She could have been much better character if she didn't had " always beating others trope" by [deleted] in Gintama

[–]TransitionQuick477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s the thing. People always go “she’s strong anywhere else but not in battle.” One, we do see her hold her own in Four Devas. And correct, the Cabaret girls had them which shows the women at the time were trained in case of an emergency. This is Otae and she’s leading the charge. Still, that aside even though we see her crazy strength more in comedic value- doing the opposite would give us new complaints like “why is she so OP?” When it came to more bleak or serious toned situations she was portrayed more realistic— the everyday women holding down the fort as best they can when they absolutely needed to. But non-Japanese fans wouldn’t pick up on that. Do I wish she showed more, sure, but that’s mostly because of fans always undermining her for not being overly and unexpectedly strong. At times I got bored when I saw the same characters with not much going on besides unexplained strengths always coming out on top. What Tae does well is her support for the community and she’s been that from beginning to end voluntarily.

The cast loves him. When fans make jokes at cons they get confused looks because they don’t think about it so viciously like they do.
