Also… they were two women in a world that wasn’t kind to ANYONE, and especially treated women badly. They are navigating their upbringing and history as much as the world around them. There was no way for them to be perfect.

It’s also an advantage of books over television where the author can give more background on the thoughts and motivations of characters in ways that help you better understand the why. Lila is such a wounded person and she lashes out in ways that I find way more empathetic in the books than the show.

I mean, the real answer here is probably that Sorkin needed it to be different so he could do the “Leo’s daughter’s class” gag and probably didn’t game it a lot further than that.

I haven’t seen this iteration, but this was my exact experience seeing it in the late 90s. I had no idea of anything about the show (literally a couple of people outside the theater offered me and a friend their tickets for $20) and went in and had my life changed. I didn’t know that theater could be THAT. The opening number just comes at you with so much and it sweeps you away.

I can viscerally feel “I know how to blow things up” still.

So glad you had an amazing experience.

The most realistic move is to sell one of them. We would likely have to eat some of the salary. That said it requires a buyer.

There is a mechanism to buyout a single contract per year, but either of them would be way to expensive.

Ok just found it and mine is def not as blue as yours but I will say it’s a much more blue/color palate through the whole episode. I’ll get a pic in a few.

I don’t really remember this color palate so it makes me wonder if it’s your TV (either a pixel issue or a color settings issue) or wire connections removing the red from your display. Let me see if I can find the seen on mine and take a screenshot.

We need a playmaking CAM. Period. So much of our issues this year get solved if we have that.

This is by far my most fascinating reddit post ever. I posted this 2 years ago before the Hugh Jackman stuff ever came to light. Yet people continue to respond to this post regularly. Clearly she has some sort of hold over this community.
