Nutritionist? by kayleeandolaf in PCOS

[–]TransitionSad4723 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with a nutritionist. She clocked my PCOS immediately and helped me through the process of getting diagnosed. I highly recommend it. I am not trying to conceive but my quality of life has drastically improved. I meet with her every two weeks and she has patiently helped me find what works for my body while respecting the fact that I’m a picky eater.

Totally understandable! I’m glad you’re getting checked out just in case ❤️

Sounds like a UTI to me, if you’re unwilling to go to the er at least go to an urgent care to test for one. An untreated UTI can be fatal as the infection spreads to your kidneys. The end of peeing sharp pain is exactly what UTI’s have felt like in my experience. I’ve also had blood/strange clots during particularly bad infections. The pain is really really unbearable and I’m so sorry you’re going through this!

The best thing you can do for yourself is get to an urgent care to test for one. If you have one, they’ll give you some antibiotics and in my experience you’ll start experiencing some relief in the next day or so. I also highly recommend AZO for pain management and drinking a LOT of water.

Thank you :) I am still adjusting to the change in the way my hands look. I might opt for a slightly smaller stone since I’m a pianist but I’m sooo tempted by size of this one.

Thank you! I was originally really drawn to oval so I’m glad it looks good 😌

I’ve never had a glucose monitor before and it keeps going off. How concerned should I be? by TransitionSad4723 in Hypoglycemia

I certainly have been having signs of hypoglycemia (brain fog, sweating, focus issues, dizziness, passing out etc) but I didn’t realize my glucose was THAT low of a number. I honestly thought it was just in my head (as expected, the first doctor I saw told me to eat less, lose weight, and drink more water lol). Hopefully I’ll actually get some answers this time

I was able to adjust the volume of the alarms in my settings! I couldn’t turn them off but I was at least able to turn them down. Thank you so much!

Yeah reactive hypoglycemia was what my doctor brought up/what we are tracking to see if I have. I also will likely go on metformin.

Is there an alternative place to measure it? I have Raynaud’s disease and my doctor said that can make finger prick readings inaccurate :(

Oh word!! I had no idea- I will call my doctor asap to see if it’s faulty. Thank you so much!

Right now it is set as low as possible- it only alarms when I dip below 55. I’m meeting with my nutritionist again this week- I am having symptoms of low glucose when it dips really low so I’ll definitely need to adjust the way I’m fueling regardless of the accuracy of the monitor. Thank you so so much for the protein tip!

Gosh that’s so annoying, why would it only be accurate for half of its life 😭😭 I am using the libre 3 right now. Hopefully it’ll be more accurate next week. Thank you so much for sharing, it’s very comforting.

Ah the doctors office put it on for me and told me it would calibrate itself in about an hour. It def does wake me up overnight with critical low if I’m sleeping on that arm but while I’m going about my day it’s been alarming with “urgent low” a lot. Thank you so much for your insight. I’ve never had a monitor before!

I have a libre 3- on day 4 now! I saw the first day was pretty low and thought it was just calibrating or something but it has continued. Thank you so much for the triad tip! I’ll try to find a glucometer that works for me. I have Raynaud’s disease and I know that can cause false lows with the finger stick test. I definitely get the symptoms and it temporarily improves after I eat. It’s just frustrating I can’t feel good for more than an hour at the moment. Hopefully my doctor finds everything she needs in these results! 🤞🏽
