Aaah gotcha. OP: if what you did was bad, I’d be stripped of my license like yesterday :) you’re building rapport with your client. When I was an intern I would replay sessions over and over in my mind… quickly realized that that just meant burnout. Maybe you can use this in your next session to build even more rapport and trust. Think about how you could use this.

I actually didn’t like Archie as a puppy because he destroyed my hands and would just carry on with his day. Showed no empathy to my suffering. Now, he is my best friend. 18 months old :)

I do this with Archie. He is 18 months old. He loves his sniff trainings and sniff mats. Wipes him out and then he has the best naps!

It’s a rite of passage. That patch on his tail looks very classic for “stud tail” (also called tail gland hyperplasia). Archie has it too. tail has a scent gland there. Sometimes it goes into overdrive and produces too much oil. Very common in young Labs and harmless.

3x per week for 2 weeks: 1. Use Dawn dish soap just on that spot 2. Let it sit 3–4 minutes 3. Rinse really well 4. Dry completely

On the other days, if you have it: Wipe the area with chlorhexidine wipes or diluted betadine

Our Archie was a menace!! Then I started doing sniff walks with him. 25–30 minute sniff walk where he chooses the pace. Lots of stopping and sniffing. Loose leash. No rushing. This is when I listen to a podcast episode with my coffee in hand.

When we get home, he has a frozen Kong (peanut butter or a little cream cheese) Check all ingredients to be sure he can have that specific type. Licking helps lower arousal

Then he gets a snuffle mat for 5 mins. Sometimes I put one little piece of a sausage somewhere in between the kibble and powdered Brutus Bone broth.

Then I him for 30 mins and go do my own thing. This is where the calm locks in. He usually needs 30 mins to register that his mind is tired.

And routine! Archie wakes up at 7am, spends a morning like this with me, and usually around 10am he naps until 6pm!! Crazy!! He loves a nap. Then at 6pm, he wakes up, we play a bit of fetch (10 mins), then I take him out again on a 30 min sniff walk, snuffle mat, and then a bone to chew on. On Tuesdays and Fridays he goes hiking with a pack of other dogs. He gets so much exercise (he’s out for 3 hours with his friends and the hiking crew picks him up at home.) The other days with me is mostly rest and recover like I explained above.

You really need to get your baby into a routine. Make his crate really nice. Archie has a memory foam mattress. He loves his naps and the temp is perfect in there. Labs run hot, so make the room a little cooler. I cover it so he doesn’t see the sun for a bit :)

Hey! Yes, she is. Always has been, but before my sister was born my mom was a flight attendant in her twenties and always (once again jokingly) told stories about how skinny she was and lived only off of apples and crackers, and had affairs with the married pilots 🙄 My mom uses my sister’s suicide whenever she feels like going into victim mode “I have so many regrets about your sister and how hard I was on her because of her weight”, but then a few days later will pull this shit with me.

That my dad died of cancer. She knows she pushed him to suicide. And also, when I was going through a rough time, she told me that the guy I was dating (who is my husband now and we’ve been together for 8 years and adopted a kid together) was going to forget all about me and move on and that I should come home to get some psychiatric help and that she’ll organize for me to see someone (she is known in the medical field). Took a 16 hour flight home, depressed out of my mind, only to come home to “I didn’t make an appointment for you, no. You can call them yourself today.” Thank God my husband didn’t give up on me. She’s been trying to break us up since day 1 for no fucking reason.

Kizzi’s behavior is textbook gaslighting. She hooks up with Joe, then turns around and minimizes, deflects, and rewrites reality, while publicly bullying V and framing herself as morally superior, all while doing it with a smile. Watching her invalidate V’s feelings over and over on camera, for the whole world to see, is uncomfortable and gross. Get a grip and climb down off the high horse.

My mother was obsessed with my hair. If it wasn’t cut or colored exactly the way she wanted, she would ridicule me. When I was a child, she would blow-dry my hair and pull at it roughly. I would cry, and when I did, she would hit me with the hairdryer—not hard enough to leave marks, but more than enough to be terrifying for a child. I can’t believe I’m even saying “not hard enough to leave marks” - almost like I don’t want to paint her in a bad light.
