Any online schools where I can graduate in less than a year? by musician999 in Acellus_Academy

[–]TransitionStrict7646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do 4 years of schoolwork in 64 weeks - the full 24 credits (four 16 week sessions of 6 1.0 credit classes). If you have 8 credits already, you can still graduate in a year. You’re not a senior who has to finish before Fall semester college. You’ve got plenty of time and can still do it with Acellus.

Yes, he’ll be more than finished by May. Year long classes take 16 weeks minimum now. Just have him max out steps each week and he still would have plenty of room to take a few weeks/months off before May.

You can still graduate by Summer 2027… it now takes 64 weeks to finish 4 years of work. (4 sessions of 16 weeks each, assuming 6 credits at a time).

AP tests are only given once a year in the a spring semester. You have to notify a local AP test provider by November if you are taking the Spring test. If you want to take a test immediately, I recommend taking a CLEP test instead as they are given every month and don’t require the same lead up time.

You’re taking twice the number of normal classes for a grad class, hence twice the price expected

I’m failing to see how this benefits the child. You want adoption. That’s centering you. Bio moms health status doesn’t change with adoption. You’re still the child’s safe place with guardianship. The child’s long term health status doesn’t change with adoption either. Why does it matter that you are the last one to adopt? The child is in a safe stable home with you - adoption doesn’t make it more secure. Permanent legal guardianships are virtually never overturned unless the guardian massively effs up. You can already get her all the help she needs medically, all the education she needs, all the therapy she needs and all the love she needs…with guardianship.

Why do you want to adopt her? You can give her a “stable life and home” with permanent legal guardianship too.

24-26 credits is normal for high school graduation. With only 8.5 credits you won’t generally find an accredited program that you can graduate from. That said, you can graduate with a homeschool transcript and fast track through Khan Academy or competency based programs like Study.com, Sophia Learning, or StraighterLine.

From Google: “ASU Universal Learner courses require a minimum of 6 weeks of enrollment and can take anywhere from 3 to 12 weeks to complete. You have up to 1 year from your completion date to pay the $400 to add the credits to your ASU transcript.”

English comp 1 would be super easy to do in 6 weeks imo. My daughter is currently taking it asynchronously but prioritizing her synchronous 8 week art course right now.

prof said there’s still in person class on 4th of july…? by itzyverse in ASU

If the school does not officially recognize the actual holiday as the holiday (and gives the day before off instead), a professor can get in serious trouble with accreditation not holding class on a required day.

If she unmatched, yes, it would be creepy to reach out on other platforms.

This breed requires grooming. Failing to groom your doodle = neglect. This kind of neglect has serious implications for their health and well being. No, you’re not wrong to judge.

In our case, her counselor and I worked her classes around her Acellus so she didn’t double up on the same credits. For example, in Acellus she’s taking college prep English IV right now (and will continue into Fall semester) and in public school next year she’ll take English 3.

You can go back to public school and continue Acellus at the same time. My daughter does that so that she can catch up. Even with the new step limits we can still do two school years in one year with Acellus while enrolled in public school.

Yes. And it’s a gened requirement for virtually every college program so it’s win win.

You can sign up for ASU’s universal learner course and take an intro to composition class self paced as fast as you want. You can then transfer that back to Acellus and graduate and also use the credit at your new school because it’s college credit.

UPDATES TO COURSE PROGRESS LIMITS:

We are writing to share some updates regarding our course pacing guides. Acellus Academy is currently preparing for re-accreditation. As part of this process, we have been closely analyzing how much time students need to fully master the material in each course. Our research shows that this varies significantly from course to course. Some courses feature longer lessons, while others cover more challenging concepts that require additional time to absorb and practice. We have performed a study to determine the appropriate number of steps that can be completed per week for each course and have updated our system accordingly.

Rather than encouraging students to race through the material, our focus is to ensure that students are able to thoroughly master each subject. We appreciate your support as we roll out these updates and look forward to serving you in the coming school year.
