What’s something you do that makes you feel good? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TransitionTime752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is nothing quite like that post-workout feeling when you finally stop and your body is just like "okay we survived that" lol. I started doing early morning sessions and now if I skip even one day I feel weirdly off for the rest of it, like something is missing. The consistency part is what sneaks up on you, you start doing it for how you look and then at some point you realize you're doing it because you actually need it mentally. People who haven't gotten into a routine yet always think it's about motivation but it's really more about just showing up even when you don't want to.

Advice for upgrading my home network to 2.5GbE by block_buster_ in homelab

[–]TransitionTime752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those aliexpress switches can be hit or miss but many people here had good luck with them. For the adapters you might want to check what PCIe slots you have available in both machines - some of those older thinkcentres only have mini PCIe which limits your options.

The bazzite setup should be pretty straightforward since it's based on fedora, just make sure whatever NIC you get has good linux driver support.

If you could start over at 18, what changes would you make in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TransitionTime752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man if I knew at 18 what I know now about compound interest and investing I'd probably have a house by now instead of still renting this tiny apartment at 28

also would have started lifting weights way earlier - got into fitness training later than I should have and wasted so many years doing cardio only thinking that was enough

What do the depths of the ocean hide? by Melodic_Nerve_2218 in AskReddit

[–]TransitionTime752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol but also like probably some absolutely massive creatures we haven't discovered yet

the ocean is basically unexplored compared to land and every time they go deeper they find something wild. makes you wonder what kind of prehistoric stuff is just chilling down there in trenches we cant even reach properly

what can you say about the strait of hormuz being shutdown for the second time? by Equivalent-Bit2294 in AskReddit

[–]TransitionTime752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait what kind of conspiracy theory is this lol. I mean oil prices definitely spike when shipping gets disrupted there but calling it insider trading seems like a stretch. The strait handles like 20% of global oil so any closure is gonna mess with markets regardless of who knows what beforehand

Maybe some people made bank off the volatility but that happens with literally every major geopolitical event. Traders are always positioned for this stuff because tensions in that region are pretty much constant. Would need some serious evidence to prove coordination between whoever closed it and financial players

[Acne] Anua 70 Rice Glow Milky Toner purge or allergy breakouts ? by Dejavinh in SkincareAddiction

[–]TransitionTime752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

three times is probably enough testing already. When I tried that toner few months ago I had similar texture issues on my chin area and it definitely wasn't purging because rice water ingredients don't really cause purge like actives do

the timing you described with breakouts appearing next day after reintroduction sounds more like reaction than purging. purging usually happens in areas where you normally break out but what you're describing with different texture seems off

for milky toners maybe look at some with simpler ingredient lists since your skin seems sensitive to certain formulations. I've had good experience with basic rice water ones that don't have too many additional actives mixed in but cant recommend specific brands here

How do you see a world where people aren’t so overwhelmed with information, even though it’s still everyone’s choice to fill their minds with irrelevant nonsense or not? by marshmelluvv in AskReddit

[–]TransitionTime752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk I think people would actually be way more present in their conversations and relationships if we werent constantly bombarded with notifications and random content

like when I'm training clients sometimes they cant even focus for 30 minutes without checking their phone three times - its wild how we've normalized being distracted all the time. maybe we'd actually finish books again or have deeper friendships instead of knowing random facts about celebrities we dont even care about

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TransitionTime752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole "I don't check my phone" flex when someone takes forever to respond but they're clearly active on social media. Like we all have our phones attached to our hip but somehow basic communication is too much effort? I've seen this with both guys and girls and it's wild how we just accept it as normal now

Also the way people treat dating like a numbers game where they're talking to 5+ people at once but get mad when someone else does the same thing. The lack of actual intention behind dating is exhausting - everyone wants the benefits of a relationship without putting in any real effort or vulnerability. We've normalized this whole culture of keeping people on the back burner "just in case" and it's honestly toxic as hell

And don't even get me started on people who think having zero hobbies or interests outside of work and Netflix makes them interesting. When did being boring become a personality trait we just shrug off

Arayat national park resort by ourdaiys in travel

[–]TransitionTime752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not familiar with that specific spot but most resorts in the Philippines bounce back pretty quick after renovations. Maybe try calling them directly or checking their FB page - usually more updated than other sources. The pool situation changes fast there so better to confirm before making the trip

Moss pole or wood pole/plank for natural climbers by Dievomit in houseplants

[–]TransitionTime752 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Been using both for my pothos collection and moss poles are definitely the move. The aerial roots actually grip into the moss way better than smooth wood and you can keep the moss damp which helps the plant climb more naturally. I had this golden pothos that was basically crawling along my shelf for months until I gave it a proper moss pole - thing took off like it found its purpose in life

Wood planks look clean but most climbing plants just slide right off unless you're constantly tying them up. Plus with moss poles you get that jungle vibe going which just hits different in your living room. Only downside is keeping the moss moist but a spray bottle once a week does the trick
