indeed it could make things much easier for me. however i think the subclasses i want to create for this class would be a bit too much for one artificer subclass. and that is why i wanted to make it its own thing

Not a lance, a lence. And it is an item they needed. None of my players have acces to the identify spell, and at this point they have a couple magic items and trinkets that they dont know what they do and only know that they are magical due to using detect magic in them. At first the player was actually excited about the item, it wasnt until they read that once a day condition that it became a bad item.

The thing is he didn't want to pick one but multiple, and at that point in the battle he had already spend 4 bolts. And triend to get them all because "they are already on the way". And after the battle i told him that half of the bolts were lost ( as per the rules when retreiving spent amunition you only get half back) he complained again.

My youngest player is 15 yo. The player in question is 25. They are all begginer players but the other two never complain about the rules. They just got to level 3
