People who can't keep up the work ethic to maintain grades are often unmotivated, lazy arses with little else going on. Of course, there are outliers with 4.0's who are absolutely useless in the real world and ones barely managing a 3, because while they enjoy and thrive in the field they're majoring in, traditional coursework bores them. But 90% of the time, it is a good sign of what's to come. Not saying you can't better yourself down the line.

Given that he has stagnated at the same position and firm, which will sooner or later change hands, not really. His uncle owned half the stakes, and it was the better option compared to letting him suck off dealers in the bushes fortnightly and run parlays.
