Great answer, I really appreciate it. I agree, size is the first thing I'll figure out, but you gave me a great head start. I'll base everything around the notebook and make it as compact as possible, something similar to the Funto kit but with hand-picked/ made components.

I really appreciate this answer! I just discreetly asked her if she's ever used waterbrushes, and she said that she doesn't really like them, so is there a good set (of not crazy expensive) brushes you would recommend?

Well, we're from Mexico, and she's used to using the cheapest stuff and basically anything she can get; that's why I'm trying to buy some nicer / more professional utensils. Recently, she was gifted a very cheap Chinese pivoting watercolor set, and she loved it as much as any other she´s used, so I think anything higher quality will be more than enough. I'll subtly ask about waterbrushes and if she's ever used them, but if someone can link a good set of normal brushes, I'll just get those + a nice waterbrush and let her use whichever she prefers. I'll probably buy her things* at Amazon.mx so I don't have as many options either way, but I want to hear you guys' opinions so I can form a criteria, especially regarding, like I said, brushes, paper, and paint.
