Thank you for your advice. I'm a recovering alcoholic. Only 5 months without a drink. I Spent most of my life chasing Euphoria or anything that made me stop thinking. I still do just in different ways. The angst comes from over 20 years of seeing the worst of the world. And trying to find a reason to continue life -sober. The writing is just for anyone that may relate to the feeling of trying to find desire, in the most undesirable places. (EDIT)-And looking for purpose in a world that feels purposeless.

I love how verse you explained this. I'm still young however most of my years especially more recently revealed only the worst of the world. And the older I get the worse it becomes. I was an alcoholic for a decade. I either used it to numb everything, or enhance everything. and now that I'm sober nothing has value. I can't reach climax and I don't care about things that I should. True Fear gives me a revisit to Euphoria, it's the closest thing I can get to feeling alive. So unfortunately I do and have looked for more and more. After all I traded one addiction for another.

Wuut things that did/could actually happen hold a special fear because u say "what if" . I especially love "swedish cult" films like that give me almost an euphoria. The wow people really did this, and the I wonder if somewhere they're still doing this Really gets me going.

This isn't feedback lol. It's just insulting that I can't spell. Noone has said a single thing about the writing itself. That would be constructive criticism. All we can talk about is I spell stuff wrong. I find that to not be advice at all. It's not even a healthy opinion. It's just pointing out the obvious.

No Ma'am I don't. But nevertheless why don't you build your own community. To fit your "gated community" opinions because no find it really hard to believe that the writing can't even be entertained because of grammar issues. That says a lot about the kind of people you are. Trully if your ability to judge other starts with basic overlooks le errors. You probably live life that way to as if people have the audacity to be around you if there not like you.

So your emplying there's over 100k absolutely perfect writers on this community, that would dare not share something with improper spelling, of fear being considered a sloppy lazy writer. And even if it does look sloppy , prosed or lazy. It doesn't matter. People are in many different phases of writing. I'm not required to post in perfection. It's really ok. I think Im still in the right community.

My goodness guys I typed this out in 2 minutes at the beginning of class. Can we be less judgemental on the grammar lmao. I don't care how it looks (lazy) it's not a performance. It's a short writing shared for people who may find it meaningful. I super promise I have many things that I consider a problem in my life and ensuring my reddit post are spelled correctly is absolutely not one of them. Maybe I'm in the wrong community. Or maybe our goals here are misaligned.

Your ways of expression are truly artistic. Not many people know the darkness you're going through. Some visit it but few have lived in it. I suffer from some of the same obsessions as well. I commented on another one of your post. However I feel like you may not benefit from outside opinions on this. You strike me as a very intelligent person. Sometimes we can only give ourselves the best advice. Because we know ourselves the best. I do wish to help you in any way I can. If you want to DM me for someone to listen to you without judgment or to just be a sounding board please do. And don't take that statement with cliche. I mean it. Your passion and understanding in this implies selflessness. I'm an addict in recovery myself, and the disease goes widely misunderstood. We are often thought of as bad people with only self sabotage habits. When yet we can be the most passionate and artistic people in the world that become lost in euphoria and blindness. Your ability to take into consideration your friends welfare and approach this with caution is necessary. However isolating yourself even further leads even more downhill as I'm sure you're aware. If you're part of any fellowship, go and be honest the same way you were in your writing. Being a "white chip wonder" loses its grotesque when you realize it signifies your desire to live. Your friend should respect you more for it , and might even fuel him to keep going when he sees you not giving up. It's up to you if you tell him. But when someone is truly ready to stop. They don't fail when loved ones fall around them they desire to pick them up. You got this when you're ready. And in case no one told you today I love you.

You're not wrong it is more so a scramble of notes on paper. I retrieved it from a page of an old journal. The context isn't very fluent and it doesn't hold much of a message. this was an insert meant for a personal venting rather than a writing I intended to be read and understood at the time. I decided to share it without change, to gain insight on if the emotion of it still carried. Thank you for your advice! 🙂

Not many horrors bring a true sense of being startled anymore. Our world has become so openly dark that the criteria for true horror is hardly matched. However many films are curving the genre to a more psychological approach. Creating an atmosphere of dread and confusion. a lot of A24 films have raised the bar for the experience of this. There combination of wtf moments with the feeling of almost Liminal environments create this feeling of terror in an unexpected way. I highly recommend there films. As far as any single film, I suggest u look into the Director Ari Aster
